This term encompasses both legal downloads and downloads of copyrighted material without permission or legal payment. According to a Nielsen report, downloadable music accounted for 55.9% of all music sales in the US in 2012. By the beginning of 2011, Apple's iTunes Store alone made US$1.1 billion of revenue in the first quarter of its fiscal year.

I is the first solo mini-album of South Korean singer Kim Jaejoong, a member of pop group JYJ. The EP was released on 17 January 2013 and is composed of rock songs, two of which were composed by Kim Ba-da from the rock band Sinawe. One of the songs, "나만의 위로", was a soundtrack from the film Code Name: Jackal, which starred Jaejoong and Song Ji-hyo. The album was an immediate commercial success, with all 120,000 initial copies of the album selling out within two weeks. An additional 20,000 copies manufactured to cope with the high demand were similarly sold out. A repackaged edition titled Y, which includes two new tracks and two instrumental tracks, was released on 26 February 2013 and experienced similar success, with all 50,000 initial pressings of the album selling out within 24 hours of sale.

"No Way" is a 2010 electronic-dance single by Korean artist Rottyful Sky, previously known as Hanul. It is her first digital single released, following a nine-year hiatus. On 21 July 2010, a 3D music video was released. Directed by Lee Sa-gang, the video was part of Sony Korea-sponsored project, which was held at the Megabox Theater in the COEX Mall in Seoul, South Korea. The song charted on the South Korean national Gaon Weekly and Monthly Download Charts, which ranks best-selling non-physical, digital music sales. "No Way" peaked on the charts at No. 88.
Uniq is a five-member Chinese-South Korean boy group formed by Chinese company Yuehua Entertainment in 2014. The group consists of Zhou Yixuan, Kim Sung-joo, Li Wenhan, Cho Seungyoun, and Wang Yibo. Uniq officially debuted on October 20, 2014 with their debut single "Falling In Love" in both China and South Korea.
