Getama is a furniture company based in Gedsted, Denmark.
Getama's administration building and production hall burned down on 9 February 2024, meaning they are unable to continue furniture production for the time being. [1]
The company was founded in 1899 as Gedsted Tang- og Madratsfabrik when the young carpenter Carl Pedersen started a production of seaweed mattresses in his home town. The seaweed harvested in the Limfjord was also sold to other companies. The company moved into furniture production in 1910. In 1949, it launched a collaboration with Hans Wegner. The furniture factory grew to become the largest employer in the small town of Gedsted with a work force of around 100. The name of the company was changed to Getama in 1953. [2]

Mogens Koch was a Danish architect and furniture designer and, from 1950 to 1968, a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Jørgen Gammelgaard (1938–1991) was a Danish furniture designer who also designed lamps and silverware.
Bernt Petersen, often known simply as Bernt, was a Danish furniture designer. Trained as a cabinetmaker (1957), he attended Denmark's Design School, graduating in 1960. He then worked for Molibia and Hans J. Wegner before opening his own studio in 1963. He taught at Denmark's Design School (1973–78) and was lector at the Royal Danish Academy's Furniture School (1978–85). Bernt's furniture designs were mainly in light wood such as ash and beech. Some of his pieces have been used in theaters and concert halls in towns throughout Denmark. Petersen was recognized for his simple style which is suitable for industrial production. He died on 6 March 2017 at the age of 79.
Poul M. Volther was a Danish furniture designer who is remembered above all for his iconic Corona Chair. He succeeded Børge Mogensen as artistic director of FDB Møbler in 1950.

Carl Hansen & Søn is the company behind many classical furniture designs by leading figures of the Danish modern movement but the company is also collaborating with contemporary designers. The Wishbone Chair, also known as the CH24 Chair or Y Chair is a chair designed by Hans Wegner in 1949 for Carl Hansen & Søn. The chair features a bentwood armrest and a paper cord rope seat in a woven envelope pattern. The chair is named after the Y or wishbone-shaped backrest. The design was inspired by Ming-era chairs.
Rud. Rasmussen, also known as Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier, was a manufacturer of wooden furniture based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The workshop was founded by Rudolph Rasmussen in 1869 and collaborated with some of the leading Danish furniture designers of the 20th century. Its former furniture factory at Nørrebrogade 45 was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 2008.
The Round Chair is an armchair designed by Hans Wegner in 1949. The chair was a collaboration of Wegner and the now-defunct furniture maker Johannes Hansen. It is still in production today by the Danish furniture manufacturer PP Møbler.
FDB Møbler is a Danish furniture company established in 1942. It was formerly a subsidiary of FDB. Børge Mogensen served as the design studio manager and many of his designs are sold by the company. Mogensen was succeeded Poul M. Volther (1950–55), Ejvind A. Johansson (1956–58), and Jørgen Bækmark (1958–67).
Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition was an annual furniture exhibition and competition held from 1927 to 1966 that served as an well-known institution of Danish Design and a vehicle for the emergence of the Danish Modern art movement. Many recognizable icons of Danish Modern were first unveiled as prototypes at the exhibition, including Hans Wegner's Round Chair, Aksel Bender Madsen and Ejnar Larsen's Metropolitan chair, Børge Mogensen's Spokeback Chair, and Finn Juhl’s Chieftain Chair.
Johannes Hansen (1886–1961) was a Danish furniture maker and founder of the eponymous company that manufactured furniture from the 1940s to the 1990s. He was a founder and for a time the chairman of the Copenhagen Cabinet Maker's Guild.
