Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht ( ISSN   0016-9420, OCLC   7375860) is a monthly intellectual property law journal published in German. [1] It is the journal of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (German: Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht) and was established in 1899. [2] The journal articles mainly concern German law. [3] It is the journal with the longest tradition in the field of intellectual property law in Germany. Because of the green cover of the journal, the whole area of intellectual property law is commonly referred to as "green section" ("grüner Bereich") among German lawyers. [4]

Kurt Haertel

Kurt Haertel was a German patent lawyer. He played a leading role in the establishment of the European patent system. He is sometimes referred to as one of the "fathers of the European patent law", or the "father of European patent law". He was President of the Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt from 1963 to 1975. In October 1977, he was elected Honorary Chairman of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.

Dr. Roland Edouard Grossenbacher is a Swiss attorney at law, who served as chairman of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation from 5 March 2000 to 4 March 2009. He was appointed at this post for a first three-year term on 5 March 2000. He was then reelected in 2002 for a second term, beginning on 5 March 2003. In December 2005, he was again re-elected as Chairman of the Council from a third term from 5 March 2006 to 4 March 2009. After he stepped down in March 2009, he was made "Honorary Chairman" of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.

The copyright law of Switzerland is based on the concept of "author's rights", which is similar to the French copyright law, instead of the concept of copyright used in common law jurisdictions. The current copyright law of Switzerland is the Swiss Federal Copyright Act of 1992, which dates from October 9, 1992 and has only seen minor revisions since then. In October 2007, a revision was approved in order to implement the WIPO Copyright Treaty in the act, a process started in 2004 with the release by the Swiss Federal Council of a draft project.

It comprises case law decisions "supplementing the court rulings section" of the main Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR) journal. The first issue was published in 2001.

The Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) is a center for both research and education in intellectual property and competition law, founded in 2003 and based in Munich, Germany. Carl Alexander von Martius was a German chemist and entrepreneur.

Gerhard Schricker was a German legal scholar with a focus on intellectual property and competition law. He was a full professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 1973 to 2000 and served as Director of the Munich-based Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Law between 1971 and 2003.
