The GiMA Best Background Score is given by Global Indian Music Academy as a part of its annual Global Indian Music Academy Awards to recognise the best background music in a Hindi film.

Global Indian Music Academy Awards

The Global Indian Music Academy Awards are presented annually by Global Indian Music Academy to honour and recognise Indian music. The nominees are voted by GiMA's jury, who have some of the most respected artistes in the country. GiMA provides a cohesive platform to celebrate and recognize the immense contribution of those who push the boundaries in Indian Music. Global Indian Music Academy Awards honor both film and non-film music in separate categories.

Background music refers to a mode of musical performance in which the music is not intended to be a primary focus of potential listeners, but its content, character, and volume level are deliberately chosen to affect behavioral and emotional responses in humans such a concentration, relaxation, distraction, and excitement. Listeners are uniquely subject to background music with no control over its volume and content. The range of responses created are of great variety, and even opposite, depending on numerous factors such as, setting, culture, audience, and even time of day.

Bollywood Hindi language film industry

Hindi cinema, often metonymously referred to as Bollywood and formerly known as Bombay cinema, is the Indian Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The term is a portmanteau of "Bombay" and "Hollywood". The industry is related to Tamil film industry (Kollywood), Telugu film industry (Tollywood) and other industries, making up Indian Cinema – the world's largest.

Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy is an Indian musical trio consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. They have composed music for over 50 soundtracks across five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and English. Amongst the most critically acclaimed Indian musicians, the trio have won numerous awards, including National Film Award (India), Filmfare Awards, IIFA Awards. They are often referred to as the "Amar Akbar Anthony" of the Hindi film music industry..

My Name Is Khan is a 2010 Indian drama film directed by Karan Johar, produced by Hiroo Johar and Gauri Khan, and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles. The film was jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment and was distributed by FOX Star Entertainment, which had bought the rights for the film for a sum of ₹100 crore, making it the most expensive Bollywood film of 2010. It is also the highest buy over for any Indian film, surpassing Ghajini's record of 90 crore.

Dabangg is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Abhinav Kashyap, and produced by Arbaaz Khan under Arbaaz Khan Productions. Arbaaz's elder brother Salman Khan stars in the lead role, with Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Om Puri, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar and Mahie Gill featuring in supporting roles, while Sonu Sood plays the main antagonist. The film marks the debut of Arbaaz as a producer and Kashyap as a director. Malaika Arora appears in the item number "Munni Badnaam Hui".

Filmfare Award for Best Music Director

The Filmfare Best Music Album Award is given by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi films, to the best composer/arranger of a soundtrack. This category was first presented in 1954. Naushad Ali was the first recipient of this award for his song "Tu Ganga Ki Mauj" from the film Baiju Bawra. For the first two years, it was awarded to the composer for a particular song and not the entire album. From 1956 onwards, awards in this category have been given for the entire soundtrack. From 2017, the name of this was category changed from best music direction to music album.

Ehsaan Noorani Indian guitarist

Ehsaan Noorani is an Indian composer and guitarist, Ehsaan is the part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio which consist of Shankar Mahadevan, Loy Mendonsa and himself. He is a famous music composer and a guitarist. He was the guitarist for many music directors before he started composing music. Ehsaan studied music with Mr. Bismarck Rodrigues, an experienced guitar teacher from Mumbai (Bombay). Ehsaan studied music at the [Musicians Institute] in Hollywood, California from 1985 to 1986. Ehsaan is the first guitarist from India to be endorsed by Fender guitars and has a Squier signature model to his name. He also endorses Fractal Audio and D'Addario strings. His playing is strongly influenced by players like Robben Ford BB King Larry Carlton etc. In 2015 Ehsaan was a co judge in India's first Western reality show called The Stage produced by Viacom and aired on Colours Infinity . In addition to Shankar Ehsaan Loy Ehsaan also performs with Fender and Friends featuring guitarists like Rudy Wallang Amyt Dutta and singers Arunima Banerjee and Tanya Sen He also performs with sitar player Purbayan Chaterjee in an ensemble called The String Fraternity Loy Mendonsa and Ehsaan have recently reformed their old Electronica band called Instant Karma Loy and he recently co composed and produced a Women's Day special song with Shruti Haasan called My Day In The Sun
