Gigamesh

Matthew Thomas Masurka (born May 12, 1983), [1] better known by his stage name Gigamesh, is a Minneapolis-based American music producer and DJ. Gigamesh is most recognized for having produced Mike Posner's track "Cooler Than Me" [2] as well as for his remix of Foster the People's single "Pumped Up Kicks" (which currently has over 172 million plays on YouTube). [3]

Prior to launching his solo career, Masurka was also involved in two other collaborative projects, Discotech [4] and Señor Stereo, [5] both alongside DJs Danny Daze and Joe Maz. Gigamesh's releases include an EP on Kitsuné and a single and two EPs on OurLabel International. In the spring of 2013, he released the single, "Enjoy", on New York City-based house label Nurvous Records. Touring internationally, he has performed in Asia, Australia, Europe and across North America.

He signed with J Records in 2009 to release his debut single "Cooler Than Me" the following year. It peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and received septuple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His follow up single, "Please Don't Go" peaked within the top 20 of the chart and received triple platinum certification; both songs preceded the release of his debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff (2010), which peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200 and saw mixed critical response. He then parted ways with J Records in favor of Island Records in 2014.
