Gift Stanford Joshua (born July 18, 1997) known by her stage name Gigy Money is a Tanzanian singer, and internet personality. [1] [2] [3] [4] Gigy became a household after releasing Papa, a Bongo Flava song written by Marioo in 2017. Throughout her music career, Gigy Money has worked with different music heavyweights including Whozu, Tamimu, Rosa Ree, Lava Lava and more.

Social controversies

Gigy Money has been accused, charged [5] and sometimes banned for violating the operating procedure of art activities in Tanzania, using foul language and posting nude contents on her social media. [6]

In 2019 the National Arts Council of Tanzania banned Gigy Money [7] from doing any art activity inside and outside of Tanzania a for six months and to give a sum of one million Tanzanian shillings for the offense of humiliating his personality while performing in a dress that showed her body half naked [8] at the concert that was broadcast live on Wasafi TV which also received a six months [9] punishment from Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority [10] for the incident.

'The Wife material show'

Gigy Money [11] was one of the contestants of a reality show Wife material season 2 [12] organized by a Kenyan Comedian Eric Omondi, [13] [14] but she was forced out when she had a fight with a fellow contestant from Tanzania called Sumaiyah in a club during the show, she later on accused [15] Omondi of forcing the contestants to fight to get the content. [16]

Relationships

Gigy Money alleged to have had a romantic relationship with Tanzanian singer Ali Kiba, [17] who denied the allegations from the vixen. She once made a public statement on her desire to have children with singer Diamond Platnumz [18] and a Tanzanian television host, Idris Sultan. [19]

In 2020, Gigy Money had a violent fight [20] with her then Nigerian boyfriend [21] called nicknamed Hunchy Huncho [22] who were separated after the incident. [23] Gigy Money claimed to have a big number of abortions, still she managed to have a daughter [24] she had with her ex boyfriend. [25]

Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) is a Tanzania-based record label founded by musician Diamond Platnumz. WCB's commercial roster includes Diamond Platnumz, Mbosso, Zuchu, Lava Lava, Queen Darleen, and D Voice. The label is headquartered at Mbezi Beach, Dar Es Salaam. The label's Vice President is RJ The DJ, who is also Diamond Platnumz's official DJ, while the official producer of the label is Lizer Classic. In 2017, the WCB Wasafi artists released a joint project titled Zilipendwa, and in 2020, they released their second single titled Quarantine. In 2021, WCB Wasafi signed a publishing and distribution deal with Ziiki and Warner Music Group.

Abdulazizi Abubakari Chende (Dogo Janja), (born September 15 1994), is a Tanzanian singer-songwriter and rapper. He was born in Arusha and raised in Ngarenaro ward in the city of Arusha located in the Arusha Region. He is currently based in Dar es Salaam.

Irene Pancras Uwoya, is a Tanzanian actress, producer and entrepreneur she is best known for her career name Irene Uwoya and for her movie role Oprah. Beginning her professional career in 2007 along with others bongo movie actors such as Vincent Kigosi, Steven Kanumba and many more.

Zuhura Othman Soud better known by her stage name Zuchu, born is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter born in Zanzibar. She is based in Dar es Salaam and signed to WCB Wasafi record label. She was awarded the Silver Plaque Button by YouTube for hitting 100,000 subscribers within a week. She became the first East African female artist to reach that milestone within a week. She also became the first East African female artist to reach 1 million subscribers on YouTube 11 months later. In 2020, Zuchu was named by AFRIMMA as the Emerging Artist Award winner.

Richard Martin Lusinga, known professionally as Rich Mavoko, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter. He was initially signed to 'King Kaka Records' in 2016, a record label founded by Kenyan rapper King Kaka, and later to WCB Wasafi. Some of his most widely known songs include 'Kokoro' featuring Diamond Platnumz, 'Rudi' featuring Patoranking, 'Show Me' featuring Harmonize, and 'Bad Boy' featuring A.Y.
