Dub is an electronic musical style that grew out of reggae in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is commonly considered a subgenre of reggae, though it has developed to extend beyond that style. Generally, dub consists of remixes of existing recordings created by significantly manipulating the original, usually through the removal of vocal parts, emphasis of the rhythm section, the application of studio effects such as echo and reverb, and the occasional dubbing of vocal or instrumental snippets from the original version or other works.

Young Knives are an English indie rock band from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, and are currently based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. The group consists of brothers Henry Dartnall and Thomas Bonsu-Dartnall. Oliver Askew was drummer from 1998 until 2015.
Michael Leslie Peters is a Welsh musician, best known as the lead singer of the Alarm. After the band split up in 1991, Peters wrote and released solo work, before reconstituting the Alarm in 2000. Additionally, he is co-founder of the Love Hope Strength Foundation. Between 2011 and 2013, Peters was the vocalist for Big Country as well as the Alarm.
The Heat Is On is the thirteenth studio album by American soul and funk group The Isley Brothers, released June 7, 1975, on T-Neck Records and Epic Records. Written and produced entirely by the group, the album was recorded in 1975 at Kendum Recorders in Burbank, California. The Heat Is On features musical elements of rock, and is divided between uptempo funk songs and soul ballads.
Linda Perry is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. She was the lead singer and primary songwriter of 4 Non Blondes, and has since founded two record labels and composed and produced songs for other artists, which include: "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera; "What You Waiting For?" by Gwen Stefani; and "Get the Party Started" by Pink. Perry has also contributed to albums by Adele, Alicia Keys, and Courtney Love, as well as signing and distributing James Blunt in the United States. Perry was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.
Engineers are a British shoegazing/dream pop band. The band was formed in London in 2003 by bassist/guitarist/keyboardist Mark Peters, singer/guitarist Simon Phipps, bassist/guitarist Dan MacBean, and drummer Andrew Sweeney. After the release of their second album Three Fact Fader in 2009, MacBean and Sweeney left the band, and were replaced by bassist/vocalist Daniel Land, drummer Matthew Linley, and keyboardist Ulrich Schnauss. Phipps and Land would later leave the band before the release of 2014's Always Returning. Engineers' sound has been described as "hazy, ethereal and atmospheric" and the band often cites the works of The Beach Boys, Brian Eno, Cocteau Twins, Spiritualized and Pink Floyd as influences.
Chic, currently called Nile Rodgers & Chic, is an American disco band founded in 1972 mainly by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. It recorded many commercially successful disco songs, including "Dance, Dance, Dance " (1977), "Everybody Dance" (1977), "Le Freak" (1978), "I Want Your Love" (1978), "Good Times" (1979), and "My Forbidden Lover" (1979). The group regarded themselves as a rock band for the disco movement "that made good on hippie peace, love and freedom". In 2017, Chic was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the eleventh time.
Shawn Lee is an American musician, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is the co-founder of London-based yacht rock duo Young Gun Silver Fox, along with Andy Platts. He is known for creating the entire score for the acclaimed video game Bully. His song, Kiss the Sky, was featured in the Telltale video game Tales from the Borderlands. He is currently working on an upcoming album Janktone Productions, composed primarily of cheap and fun home-made instruments. There is no set release date. He currently lives in London, England.

Dallon James Weekes is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was a member of Panic! at the Disco from 2009 to 2017, performing in the band as a bassist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist. He was also the frontman of the indie band and later solo musical project The Brobecks. Weekes currently performs as the frontman of I Dont Know How But They Found Me.
Hank & Cupcakes are an Atlanta-based indie rock–pop duo formed in 2008 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The group consists of husband-and-wife Ariel "Hank" Scherbacovsky and Sagit "Cupcakes" Shir. They took their name as a reference to Hank Chinaski, the literary alter ego of American writer Charles Bukowski and one of his real-life lovers, Pamela "Cupcakes" Wood. On October 22, 2012, the band released their Ain't No Love EP on BMG Rights Management, with the first single "Sweet Potion" being premiered by MTV Hive on October 9, 2012. Their full-length debut album, Naked, was released July 2, 2013. The group's second LP, Cash 4 Gold, followed in 2014. Their third album, Cheap Thrill, was released July 1, 2016.
Always Returning is the fourth full-length studio album by British shoegazing band Engineers, released on 11 August 2014 through the Kscope label. The album is the first to feature Mark Peters on lead vocals throughout, with the rest of the band consisting of Ulrich Schnauss and Matthew Linley. It is the first release not to include vocalist Simon Phipps. The album was preceded by a single, "Fight Or Flight", released on 28 July 2014, with a second single, "A Million Voices," out on 19 January 2015.
AztecCormorant is the third full-length studio album by London-based composer/producer Matthew Gilbert Linley, and was released in January 2014 under the same project name. The tracks 'And Lo' and 'In Serenades' were featured on Tom Robinson's July and November 2014 BBC 6 Music Mixtapes.
Salt Rush with Mark Peters is a debut collaborative album by composer Matthew Linley, vocalist Maud Waret and guitarist Mark Peters of Engineers. It is the first release by the collective and was released on Pedigree Cuts on 24 June 2016 as a digital download.
Deep Blue Remixes is a collection of remixes created following the release of Deep Blue, the debut collaborative album by Mark Peters and Elliot Ireland, released on 21 October 2016. This collection was released as an EP by the record label Pedigree Cuts. The EP was originally released via Juno Download on 7 October 2016, and featured an exclusive bonus track, ′Cloudsurfing .′ The bonus track was no longer available following the full release.
