The Denmark women's national cricket team represents the Kingdom of Denmark in international women's cricket. The team is organised by the Dansk Cricket Forbund, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Castle Avenue Cricket Ground, also known as Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, is a cricket ground in the suburb of Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. Elena Joy Tice, also referred to as Lena Tice, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Tice is also an Ireland women's cricket international. She was a dual Ireland women's cricket and field hockey international by the age of 17. In 2011 she made her senior international cricket debut, aged just 13 years and 272 days. As a result, after Pakistan's Sajjida Shah, Tice became the second youngest player in the history of cricket, male or female, to make their international debut playing in an official One Day International or Twenty20 International. She also represented Ireland at the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20. Tice has also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with UCD Ladies' Hockey Club.

The 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament that was held in Zimbabwe in November and December 2021. The tournament was the final part of the qualification process for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. All of the regional qualification tournaments used the Women's Twenty20 International format. The tournament was the fifth edition of the World Cup Qualifier, with the fixtures played as 50 overs matches. Originally, the top three teams from the qualifier would have progressed to the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. The top three teams, along with the next two best placed teams, also qualified for the next cycle of the ICC Women's Championship.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused disruption to cricket around the world, mirroring its impact across all sports. Around the world and to varying degrees, leagues and competitions have been cancelled or postponed.
The Ireland women's cricket team were scheduled to play the Scotland women's cricket team in Spain in November 2020. The tour would have consisted of two 50-over matches and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). All of the matches would have been played at the La Manga Club in Cartagena, played behind closed doors, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Shortly before the scheduled tour, the Spanish government had increased restrictions in the country due to a second wave of the virus. Both teams and the match officials were scheduled to stay in the same hotel in a secure bio-environment.

The matches were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Originally scheduled to take place in Scotland, the tournament was moved to the La Manga Club, Spain, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amy Hunter is an Irish cricketer who plays for Dragons and Ireland. In October 2021, during the final match of Ireland's tour of Zimbabwe, Hunter became the youngest cricketer, male or female, to score a century in an ODI match, doing so on her 16th birthday. As a result, Hunter was named as the Irish Times/Sport Ireland Sportswoman for October 2021.
