Giovanna Laurel Dionicio Geraldino (born September 20, 2001) is a footballer. Born in the United States, she represents the Dominican Republic women's national team.

Early life

Dionicio played youth soccer with FSA FC. [1] She attended Hall High School, [2] where she was named all-state as a senior and was a three-time all-conference selection. [3]

College career

In 2019, Dionicio began attending Yale University, where she played for the women's soccer team. [3]

In 2023, she transferred to the University of Connecticut as a graduate student, where she played for the women's soccer team. [4] She made her debut on August 20 against the Boston University Terriers. [5]

Club career

In 2021, she played with Connecticut Fusion II in the UWS League Two. [6] In 2024, she played with Sporting CT in United Women's Soccer. [7]

In June 2024, she was named to the original roster for the women's team of Vermont Green FC for the club's first-ever women's game, an exhibition against Canadian Ligue1 Quebec side FC Laval. [8]

International career

In 2020, she played with the Dominican Republic U20. [9]

In 2021, she was called up to the Dominican Republic senior team for the first time. [10] On 19 February 2022, she scored her first international goal in a 4–0 victory over the Cayman Islands in a 2022 CONCACAF W Championship qualification match. [11]

Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut and a game at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This was UConn's first season as a member of the American Athletic Conference, known as The American. The Huskies finished the season with a perfect 40–0, 18–0 in the American Conference in winning both the regular season and the tournament titles. They received an automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament and won their ninth National Championship by defeating Notre Dame. The previous day, Connecticut also won the men's tournament. It was just the second time in NCAA history the same school had won both the men's and women's tournaments; UConn first accomplished that feat in 2004.
