Girish Chandra Tripathi (G.C. Tripathi) is the Chairman of the Higher Education Council Uttar Pradesh. [1] [2] Previously,he has been the 26th Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (27 November 2014 to 26 November 2017),and professor of Economics at the University of Allahabad. [1] [3]
Banaras Hindu Universitylisten (help·info) (BHU) IAST: kāśīhindūviśvavidyālaya IPA:/kaːʃiːhɪnd̪uːʋɪʃwəʋid̪jaːləj/),is a collegiate,central,and research university located in Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh,India,and founded in 1916. The university incorporated the Central Hindu College,founded by Indian Home Rule-leaguer and Theosophist,Annie Besant in 1898. After Besant and her associates were marginalized,the university was established by Madan Mohan Malaviya with the financial support of the maharaja of Dharbhanga Rameshwar Singh,the maharaja of Benares Prabhu Narayan Singh,and the lawyer Sunder Lal. With over 30,000 students,and 18,000 residing on campus,BHU is the largest residential university in Asia. The university is one of the eight public institutions declared as an Institute of Eminence by the Government of India.

He is known for some impressive biographies,written in Hindi,namely Shashwat Vidrohi Rajneta based on life and acts of Gandhian socialist Acharya J. B. Faculty of Arts,Banaras Hindu University is a faculty in the Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi,India which offers courses in Humanities along with various professional and vocational courses except social sciences. Lalji Singh FNA,FASc was an Indian scientist who worked in the field of DNA fingerprinting technology in India,where he was popularly known as the "Father of Indian DNA fingerprinting". Singh also worked in the areas of molecular basis of sex determination,wildlife conservation forensics and evolution and migration of humans. In 2004,he received the Padma Shri in recognition of his contribution to Indian science and technology.
