Giuseppe Vessicchio (born 17 March 1956) is an Italian conductor, composer, arranger, musician and television personality. He is often spelled as Beppe Vessicchio or Peppe Vessicchio.
Born in Naples, the son of an Eternit employee, Vessicchio frequented the Naples Conservatory without graduating. [1] While still an university student of architecture, Vessicchio performed for a few years with the comedy ensamble Trettré and started collaborating with some high-profile Neapolitan singers such as Peppino di Capri, Peppino Gagliardi, Fred Bongusto, Edoardo Bennato, Nino Buonocore. [2] [3] He had his professional breakout in the first half of the 1980s thanks to a long collaboration with Gino Paoli as an arranger, conductor (both in studio and in tours) and composer, penning among others Paoli's hits "Ti lascio una canzone", "Una lunga storia d'amore" and "Cosa farò da grande". Vessicchio is a popular figure of the Sanremo Music Festival, taking part at almost all the editions of the festival starting from 1990, when he served as a conductor for Mia Martini and Mango, and winning four times the critics' award for best arrangement. [1] [2] His collaborations include Andrea Bocelli (for whom he composed "Sogno"), Zucchero Fornaciari, Ornella Vanoni, Roberto Vecchioni, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Spagna, Max Gazzè, Ron, Mario Biondi, Le Vibrazioni, Fiordaliso, Elio e le Storie Tese, Biagio Antonacci, Rockin'1000, Syria, Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel. [2] [3] He is also a composer of classical music, and his camera composition "Tarantina" was performed at La Scala in Milan. [4] [6]

Michele Zarrillo is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is mainly known for hits such as "Una rosa blu", "Cinque giorni", L'elefante e la farfalla and "La notte dei pensieri". In 1987 he won the Sanremo Music Festival, competing in the newcomers' section. Zarrillo took part in the competition several other times, the last time in 2020 with the song "Nell'estasi o nel fango". The Sanremo Music Festival 2014, officially the 64th Italian Song Festival, was the 64th annual Sanremo Music Festival, a televised song contest held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, Liguria, between 18 and 22 February 2014 and broadcast by Rai 1. Fabio Fazio and Italian comedy actress Luciana Littizzetto presented the show, which was based on the same rules adopted for the previous contest. Competing artists were split in two different sections—Big Artists and Newcomers. The Big Artists section included 14 established Italian artists. During the first and the second night of the show, each act performed two songs, and only one song per act was allowed to continue the competition, as a result of votes received by public and journalists. After the third night, Riccardo Sinigallia's entry, "Prima di andare via", was disqualified for being performed during a concert preceding the competition. During the final night, Arisa's "Controvento" was announced as the winning song for the Big Artists section of the contest. The Newcomers' section featured eight songs performed by debuting or little known artists. The winning entry, Rocco Hunt's "Nu juorno buono", was announced during the semi-final of the contest.
