Countdown is a British game show involving word and mathematical tasks that began airing in November 1982. It is broadcast on Channel 4 and is currently presented by Colin Murray, assisted by Rachel Riley with lexicographer Susie Dent. It was the first programme to be broadcast on Channel 4 and 89 series have been broadcast since its debut on 2 November 1982. With over 8,000 episodes, Countdown is one of Britain's longest-running game shows; the original French version, Des chiffres et des lettres, has been running on French television continuously since 1965. Countdown was produced by Yorkshire Television and was recorded at The Leeds Studios for 27 years, before moving to the Manchester-based Granada Studios in 2009. Following the development of MediaCityUK, Countdown moved again in 2013 to the new purpose-built studios at Dock10 in Greater Manchester.

Through the Keyhole is a British comedy panel game show created by the TV producer Kevin Sim and originally presented by Sir David Frost in the studio and Loyd Grossman on location. Gladiators is an Australian television series which aired on Saturday nights on the Seven Network from 29 April 1995 until 12 October 1996 almost consecutively for eighteen months. It was based on the popular franchise of the same name, which started with American Gladiators in 1989. However the Australian show was more heavily based on the British version of the 1990s with events, format and even music being used from that show.
International Gladiators 2 was the second international competition of the Gladiators franchise, consisting of seven episodes. The series was filmed at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham during spring 1996.

Based upon the American television programme American Gladiators, the show sees four contestants, split into pairs by gender, compete in a series of physically challenging events against the show's resident "Gladiators", before competing against their respective contestant in one final event. Anything More Would Be Greedy is a six-part television comedy-drama miniseries was written and created by Malcolm Bradbury and directed by Rodney Bennett, this series was produced by Anglia Television for the ITV Network, first aired on ITV from 26 July to 30 August 1989. The drama was narrated by Simon Cadell and it stars Martin Wenner, Sharon Holm, Alison Sterling, Robert Bathurst, Tessa Peake-Jones, Matthew Marsh and Christopher Benjamin. The series begins as the story of a group of Cambridge students and their lives in the ten years following their graduation.
