Glenn Morrison (born September 12, 1985) is a Canadian DJ and record producer from Toronto, Ontario. As a producer, he is best known for his tracks, "Contact", "No Sudden Moves", "Colourblind", and "Goodbye," [1] that struck Billboard charts globally.

As a DJ and performer he entertains with melodic progressive house and big-room club sounds. [2]

Morrison has had the support of DJs varying from John Digweed and Richie Hawtin to Pete Tong, David Guetta and Tiesto and has performed around the world with over 400 shows. Morrison has created over 100 tracks which have been put out on over 700 compilations.

His productions and remixes have been released on numerous labels including Sony, Universal, EMI, Ministry of Sound, Bedrock, Extinct, Mau5trap, Songbird, Robbins Entertainment, Pokerflat, Hope and Time.

Morrison is the owner and founder of Alpine Mastering, a mastering studio located in Toronto, Ontario. The studio offers a number of services from Music Production, Mixing and Mastering.

Through Alpine Mastering, Morrison has worked on sound design for video game companies like Nintendo, EA Sports, Activision and Rockstar. A partnership with IMAX for electronic music focused on sound-scoring live theatre visuals. Morrison and IMAX unveiled this concept with a 3 part show series at the 2012 ComicCon . [3]

Morrison also ran Morrison Recordings which designed, developed, manufactured, marketed, sublicensed and supported a wide range of mediums, from music to print services. [4] Over 400 records have been released on Morrison Recordings over the course of five years and 95 releases with artists including deadmau5, 16 Bit Lolitas, Gutterstylz, Robert Babicz, Charley May and Redanka.

In 2016, Morrison Recordings was closed down in order to allow Morrison the time and ability to create and run four new record labels - Dying Light Records, Fall From Grace Records, Ambient Wave Records, and Wolfe Records. Each label caters to different stylistic sensibilities and headspaces.

Life and career

Morrison is a classically trained pianist. Starting piano lessons at the age of four, he began composing and competing through CMC, Kiwanis Music Festival, Richmond Hill Music Festival, and ORMTA - Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association. [5] Morrison received his ARCT through the Royal Conservatory of Music by the age of 14.

In his early high school years, Morrison discovered Techno from a friend in his science class, and started collecting vinyl and becoming absorbed in underground DJ culture. He then worked at Release Records for five years before starting his own record label Morrison Recordings. [2] Around the age of 20, Morrison started producing electronic music, learning from close friends deadmau5, Bruce Aisher, Peter Kriek, and Ariaan Olieroock. His first international hit was in 2007 when DJ Tiësto featured his track ‘Contact’ on his compilation In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza [6] and it shot to the top of the World Dance Charts.

His hit single ‘Goodbye’ has been Certified Double Platinum and went Number 1 for 11 weeks in a row on the Canadian Artists Billboard Chart, as well as going Number 1 in Russia, Ukraine and the Belarus Billboard Charts. ‘Goodbye’ was the 3rd highest grossing single for radio play in all genres for 2014 in Canada.

For three years Morrison was a resident at Amnesia nightclub in Ibiza, Spain, and was a resident at Space nightclub in Ibiza, Spain for one year after that. He took part in North American residencies as well at Space nightclub in Miami, Florida for two years, along with the Marquee nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada. Morrison's latest addition to his residency repertoire was a monthly night at Palms Casino's Moon Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Black Hole Recordings

Black Hole Recordings is a Dutch record label founded by Tijs Verwest (Tiësto) and Arny Bink in 1997. The label is currently distributed by Entertainment One Distribution, formerly known as E1 Entertainment Distribution. Mason (musician)

Mason is the stage name of Dutch music DJ & producer Iason Chronis. He had a number one on the UK Dance Chart in 2007 with his track "Exceeder". Exceeder had originally been an instrumental and had received a vinyl-only release in the UK in 2006. The new version of the track, "Perfect (Exceeder)", was a mashup with American rapper Princess Superstar's song "Perfect" and reached number 3 on the national British chart in January 2007. The track was a big hit in many countries worldwide. He also had chart success in 2011 with his song "Runaway", which was a modern version of "Runaway" by Eruption, and "Boadicea", featuring Róisín Murphy, in 2016 with "Fashion Killa", and with many club releases since. Mason is the owner of the record label Animal Language.

Tiësto discography

Throughout his career, Dutch electronic DJ and producer Tiësto has released seven studio albums. After spending years searching for his personal style and working with DJs like Ferry Corsten, Benno de Goeij and Armin van Buuren, he decided it was time to focus on his solo work. Tiësto's fame started to rise in the late 1990s after his set at the first ID&T Innercity party, and it continued to skyrocket in the early 2000s following his six-hour "Tiësto Solo" sets, which he performed without any other DJs or opening acts. His last three full-length releases broke the 70,000-unit mark, and the 2003 DJ mix Nyana hit 87,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan in mid-2008.

<i>In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza</i> 2007 compilation album by Tiësto

In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza is the sixth album in the In Search of Sunrise series mixed by trance DJ/producer Tiësto, released on 7 September 2007 in the Netherlands and 16 October 2007 in the United States as a double disc album. This information was confirmed on 31 July 2007 on Tiësto's website. Many file-sharing websites, earlier in 2007, released a fake torrent of In Search of Sunrise 6, labeled In Search of Sunrise 6 - London, which even included a CD cover. This was quickly noted as a fake as information of the CD had not been released via Tiësto's website nor the In Search of Sunrise series website. A special release party was held at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on 3 November 2007. Like previous In Search of Sunrise albums, this album contains a special slipcase. The album picture was taken by Stephanie Pistel. The compilation was awarded in the 2008 WMC Awards in Miami, it won for "Best Full Length DJ Mix CD".

EDX (DJ) Swiss DJ and producer (born 1976)

Maurizio Colella, better known by his stage name EDX, is a Swiss DJ and Grammy-nominated producer. The #1 Swiss artist on Spotify, he was proclaimed a genius by British electronic dance music magazine Mixmag for his production and remixing talent. EDX is currently signed to the Spinnin' Deep sublabel of Spinnin' Records, although also releases via his own label Sirup Music. His radio mix show, No Xcuses, debuted in 2011 on Sirius XM and is now broadcast weekly on the Evolution platform on iHeartRadio.

Dyro Dutch DJ and record producer

Jordy van Egmond, known professionally as Dyro, is a Dutch DJ and EDM producer. Since 2010 he has released original singles and remixes on labels such as Revealed Recordings, Musical Freedom, and Def Jam, and has also released official remixes for tracks such as "Right Now" by Rihanna and "Iron" by Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris. He collaborated with Tiësto on a single titled "Paradise" in 2013, and also that year he collaborated with Hardwell on the single "Never Say Goodbye". Featuring Bright Lights, it peaked at No. 23 on the UK Dance Chart. In 2014 Dyro ranked No. 27 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list.

Matt Lange

Matt Lange is an American DJ and producer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for co-producing "Goodbye" with DJ Glenn Morrison, together with soundtracks for movies including Blade Runner 2049 and Ready Player One. His use of modular synthesis and isorhythms in his musical productions have brought him notice. Lange produced progressive house and deep house early in his career, before moving into techno production from 2015 onwards. Lange found his own label, Isorhythm, in 2011 as a platform to release his own music. He released his debut studio album, Ephemera, in 2015 through Mau5trap, which was later followed up with Isolated in 2020.

Asonn Dutch electronic musician

Sonny Leonard Grootscholten, better known by his stage name Asonn, is a Dutch electronic musician, record producer, songwriter, remixer and DJ. He gained recognition after collaborating with Bobby Burns on their single "Sahara".
