Godavari Ne Kay Kele is a short story by eminent Marathi writer Hari Narayan Apte. The story depicts the courage and determination of a young girl from a humble family.
A telefilm based on the story was produced by Sahyadri Channel of Doordarshan in the year 2010.
Godavari gets shocked when she comes to know that her younger brother Deepu suffers from an eye disease which may cause blindness. The only solution is operation at a costly hospital at Mumbai which is beyond the reach of the poor family. However, Godavari takes Deepu to Mumbai and, promising to serve the surgeon throughout her life, convinces him to operate upon Deepu's eyes. The surgeon, after a successful operation, decides to keep Godavari with him for life, as his daughter–in-law.

Life in a... Metro is a 2007 Indian ensemble musical drama film co-produced, written and directed by Anurag Basu, and set in Mumbai, India. It features an ensemble cast of Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan. The music is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri. The film was released on 11 May 2007. It narrates the lives of 9 people living in Mumbai and deals with topics like extramarital affairs, sanctity of marriage, and love. The film was critically acclaimed for its story, screenplay, music and performances of the ensemble cast. The general plot and a number of characters are based on two classic Hollywood films, Brief Encounter (1945) and The Apartment (1960).
Kasautii Zindagii Kay is an Indian television series created by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms on Star Plus. The show starred Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan later replaced by Hiten Tejwani, Ronit Roy and Urvashi Dholakia who portrayed Prerna Sharma, Anurag Basu, Rishabh Bajaj and Komolika Majumdar. The show explored the story of the star crossed lovers Anurag and Prerna. The various stages of their love and life as well as the lives of their children, grandchildren and at the end, great-grandchildren.
Chitchor is a 1976 Indian Hindi romantic musical film, written and directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film is a Rajshri Productions film produced by Tarachand Barjatya. It is based on a Bengali story, Chittachakor by Subodh Ghosh. K. J. Yesudas and Master Raju won the National Film Awards 1976 for Best Male Playback Singer and Best Child Artist respectively. The film was remade in Telugu as Ammayi Manasu, in Malayalam as Minda Poochakku Kalyanam and in Tamil as Ullam Kavarntha Kalvan. It was also an inspiration for the 1997 Bengali movie Sedin Chaitramas and the 2003 movie Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

It follows a mild-mannered office worker Surinder Sahni, whose love for his beautiful and vivacious wife Taani, causes him to transform himself into the loud and fun-loving "Raj Kapoor" to win her love. It was released worldwide on 12 December 2008 and marked Chopra's return to directing after an 8-year hiatus following his previous directorial venture, Mohabbatein (2000), which also starred Khan.
Swapnakoodu is a 2003 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy film directed by Kamal and written by Iqbal Kuttippuram and Kamal from a story by Kamal. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya, Meera Jasmine and Bhavana. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Mohan Sithara. The film performed well at the box office, it was the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year, behind Balettan and CID Moosa.
Sarita Joshi is an Indian stage, television and film actress, and is a veteran actress of Gujarati theatre and Marathi theatre and also Marathi cinema. She is widely remembered for her role as Godavari Labhshankar'"Baa" Thakkar in the Star Plus hit dramedy Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, for which she won many awards. She is known for her Gujarati plays done with her husband Pravin Joshi in the 1970s.

Do Dooni Chaar is a 2010 Indian Hindi family comedy-drama film produced by Arindam Chaudhuri, written and directed by debutant director Habib Faisal, and starring Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Aditi Vasudev and Archit Krishna in lead roles. The film is about a middle-class school teacher who tries to keep his wife and children happy in inflationary times and dreams of buying a car. The movie also marks the return of the Kapoor pair as a lead couple on the silver screen. Although the duo had not acted in a film in over 30 years, they had previously acted in numerous hits during the 1970s. The directorial debut film was also the first live-action Hindi film to be distributed by Disney World Cinema. It went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 58th National Film Awards.

Ankur Arora Murder Case is a 2013 Indian Hindi medical thriller film directed by Suhail Tatari and written and produced by Vikram Bhatt. The film stars Arjun Mathur, Tisca Chopra, Kay Kay Menon, Paoli Dam. The film takes up an urgent and disturbing issue of death during surgery and is based on a real-life incident where a boy dies on the operation table due to medical negligence. The shooting of the film started after nearly one year of research and similarities to real life are in this case, not coincidental. The movie released on 14 June 2013 and made a profit of 2.5 Crores approximately. It was declared semi hit.
Noshir Hormasji Antia (1922–2007) was an Indian plastic surgeon and social worker, known for his pioneering contributions to the treatment and rehabilitation of people afflicted with leprosy. He was the founder of three notable non governmental organizations, Foundation for Research in Community Health (FRCH), Foundation for Medical Research (FMR) and the National Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped (NASEOH), all working in the field of rehabilitation of patients, cured or otherwise. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri in 1990.
Simon Peter Jabir Kay is a British consultant plastic surgeon, born and educated in Guernsey, Channel Islands, based in Leeds. Kay carried out the UK's first hand transplant operation. Kay trained in plastic surgery in the UK in Wexham, Birmingham, and Manchester, with secondments for specialist training in Adelaide, Australia and Louisville, Kentucky, United States.
Lakhumal Hiranand Hiranandani (1917–2013) was an Indian otorhinolaryngologist, social activist and philanthropist, known for pioneering several surgical procedures which later came to be known as Dr. Hiranandani's Operations. He was the founder chairman of Hiranandani Foundation Trust which runs two schools in India and was reported to have been active in the social movement against organ trade in India. He was a recipient of the Golden Award of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the first Indian and the fifth overall to receive the honour. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1972, for his contributions to medicine and society.
Sharad Panday was an Indian heart surgeon. He was on the team of surgeons who performed the first-ever heart transplant in India at the King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai. He was a specialist in bloodless heart surgery, and was an early exponent of bloodless open heart surgery in India.
Godavari Parulekar was a freedom fighter, writer, and social activist. She was influenced by Marxist and Communist ideologies and spent her life fighting for the farmers and working class. She was married to Shamrao Parulekar, another freedom fighter and activist with the same ideologies.
