Politics of Bangladesh takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic,whereby the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of government,and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The Constitution of Bangladesh was written in 1972 and has undergone seventeen amendments.

Nozir Hossain was a Bangladeshi politician in Sunamganj district of Sylhet Division. He was elected the first Member of Parliament from the Communist Party of Bangladesh in Sunamganj-1 seat in the 1991 Jatiya Sangsad. He joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on 15 October 1993. Later,for the second time in February 1996 and for the third time in the 2001 the Bangladesh Nationalist Party was elected to the same seat.
Abul Hasnat Muhammad Abdul Hai was a Bangladeshi politician. He was elected a member of the Jatiya Sangsad from the seats of 227 Sunamganj-4 and 228-Sunamganj-5 (Chhatak-Dowarabazar). He was elected a member of parliament for the first time as an independent candidate from Sylhet-4 in the 1973 first parliamentary elections. In the second parliamentary election an independent candidate in 1979,he was elected a member of the parliament in the Sylhet-5 constituency. He was a member of the Jatiya Party's elected a member of the parliament from Sunamganj-5 seat in the last 1986 in the third parliamentary election.

Hossain Mokbul Shahriar is a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and a Jatiya Sangsad member from the Rangpur-1 constituency. He is the nephew of Hussain Mohammad Ershad,a former president of Bangladesh.
