Golden State is an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. Band members include former Paloalto vocalist James Grundler (vocals/guitar), Marc Boggio (guitar), Kemble Walters (drums), and Elias Reidy (bass), formerly of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Biography

Vocalist James Grundler is known for heading Los Angeles-based band Paloalto. Paloalto's two studio albums were produced by Rick Rubin and released through American Recordings. James was also in San Luis Obispo, California-based band The Din Pedals.

Golden State has two singles that were featured on the Discovery Channel show Deadliest Catch : “All Roads Lead Home” and “Bombs.” [1] “All Roads Lead Home” was also featured on episodes of the Canadian TV series Flashpoint , and Heartland as well as on the soundtrack for the movie Dolphin Tale .

"Save Me", from their debut album Division, has another version recorded and released separately that features Tyler Blackburn on vocals and is the theme song to webseries Wendy (starring Meaghan Martin).

Their song "Till the End" was used as the official theme for the BBC's coverage of the 2011 Royal Wedding of Prince William & Catherine Middleton.

The band's song "Bombs" was featured as the opening song of an episode of the TV series Gossip Girl . [2]

Their song "Take Me Out" is featured in the trailer and soundtrack for the film Cavemen . [3]

The Donnas American rock band

The Donnas were an American rock band formed in Palo Alto, California, in 1993. The band consisted of Brett Anderson, Allison Robertson, Maya Ford and Torry Castellano. Amy Cesari replaced Castellano, who left the band in 2009 due to tendonitis. They drew inspiration from the Ramones, The Runaways, Girlschool, AC/DC, Bachman–Turner Overdrive and Kiss. Rolling Stone has stated that "the Donnas offer a guileless take on adolescent alienation; they traffic in kicks, not catharsis, fun rather than rage". MTV has stated that the band offers "a good old-fashioned rock & roll party". After gathering a cult following in the punk scene since their 1997 debut, the band achieved major label commercial success in the early 2000s and afterward as their music mixed punk, metal and classic rock sounds.

Paloalto is a rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band is not named after the city Palo Alto, but rather the lead singer and frontman James Grundler's preschool. Their debut album was released on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label and was produced by Rubin. Their second album, Heroes and Villains, reached #14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in 2003, on the strength of the song "Breathe In", which had been featured on The O.C. The song "Try" was the theme song on the 2003 Warner Brothers show "Tarzan".

BMX Bandits (band) Scottish pop rock band

BMX Bandits are a Scottish guitar pop band formed in Bellshill in 1986. Led by songwriter and lead vocalist Duglas T. Stewart, their music is heavily influenced by 1960s pop. They have shared members with numerous other local bands, including Teenage Fanclub and the Soup Dragons. BMX Bandits were a favourite band of Kurt Cobain, who said "If I could be in any other band, it would be BMX Bandits". James Owen Sullivan, also known by his stage name the Rev, was an American musician, best known as a member of the heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, where he played drums and provided backing vocals. He was also the lead vocalist/pianist in the avant-garde metal band Pinkly Smooth and drummed for the ska punk band Suburban Legends from 1998 to 1999.

Head East is an American rock band, originally from East Central Illinois. The band was formed by vocalist John Schlitt, guitarist Danny Piper, keyboardist Roger Boyd, bassist Larry Boyd, and drummer Steve Huston. They met and formed the band while John, Roger, and Larry were studying at the University of Illinois, Steve was at Eastern Illinois University 45 miles away and Danny was not in college. Eventually both Larry and Danny dropped out of the band and were replaced by Mike Somerville (guitar) and Dan Birney (bass). The band achieved success in the Midwest during the 1970s, but fell into obscurity in the following decades on both coasts while remaining strong in the Midwest and South.
