The Golders Green Estate is a private housing development in the London Borough of Barnet situated within the London NW2 postcode area.
It is bounded by (and includes) Cotswold Gardens and Cheviot Gardens and was built by John Laing & Co on the site of the Handley Page factory and aerodrome (Cricklewood Aerodrome), which closed in 1929. It borders Clitterhouse Playing Fields.
The area is located within the Golders Green electoral ward of the Finchley and Golders Green parliamentary constituency, and within the Golders Green Metropolitan Police Service ward. Nearby stations include Brent Cross, Golders Green, and Cricklewood, and the district is served by numerous bus routes.
The area was the childhood home of Jean Simmons, the actress.

The "Brent Cross Flyover" A41 runs to the east of the shopping centre over the A406 North Circular Road, while the M1 motorway and A5 Edgware Road are to the west at Staples Corner interchange. In addition, the Northern line and Thameslink rail routes run on viaducts.
Childs Hill is one of two areas at the south end of the London Borough of Barnet along with Cricklewood which straddles three boroughs. It took its name from Richard le Child, who in 1312 held a customary house and "30 acres" of its area. It is a mainly late-19th-century suburban large neighbourhood centred 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Charing Cross bordered by the arterial road Hendon Way in the west and south-west, Dunstan Road in the north, West Heath and Golders Hill Park which form an arm of Hampstead Heath to the east and the borough boundary as to the short south-east border.
Hendon was an ancient civil parish of around 8,250 acres (33 km2) which included Mill Hill on the border of Hertfordshire, as well as Golders Green and Childs Hill on the border of what became the County of London. In 1894 it was created an urban district of Middlesex and in 1932 it became a municipal borough. The municipal borough was abolished in 1965 and the area became part of the London Borough of Barnet.
Finchley and Golders Green is a constituency created in 1997 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. The current MP is Mike Freer of the Conservative Party, who has held the seat since 2010.

Hendon South was a constituency in the former Municipal Borough of Hendon which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created for the 1945 general election, when the Hendon seat was split into two, and abolished for the 1997 general election, with Childs Hill, Garden Suburb, and Golders Green wards going to Finchley and Golders Green along with wards from Finchley. Hendon and West Hendon wards were transferred to new constituency: Hendon.
Whitefield School is a secondary school and sixth form located in the London Borough of Barnet. In 2010, the school was in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country. Since then it has been in the top 1 or 2% of schools in the country for the value it adds to the expected progress of its students. Whitefield was one of the first schools in Barnet to convert to academy status in 2011, in order to use the freedoms granted by this status to further improve the remarkable academic performance of its students.

It is a large area of mown grass with a children's playground, bordered by thick hedges. Clitterhouse Stream, a tributary of the River Brent, runs along its eastern border.
