Good Boy is a 2023 short comedy drama film. It is written and directed by Tom Stuart, and starring Ben Whishaw and Marion Bailey. Good Boy premiered at Leeds International Film Festival. It was shortlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards. [2]

Premise

Out of money and out of luck, Danny (Whishaw) is determined to turn his life around, but the interventions of his anarchic mum (Bailey) and the reappearance of figures from his past threaten to derail him at every turn. [3] [4]

Production

The film is written and directed by Tom Stuart in his directorial debut. He has described the film as deeply personal. [5] Stuart has explained that the film was his way of coping with the loss of his own mother, and help process his own feelings of grief. [6] Kay Loxley, Max Marlow, Elettra Pizzi and Tom Stuart produce for 130 Elektra Films, with Alex Gonzalez, Gia Coppola and Goldcrest Films CEO Chris Quested executive producing alongside Emma Thompson. [7] Filming took place on Worthy Farm, Somerset in April 2023. [8] [9]

The film was given a preview screening at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival. [10]

The 2023 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts took place between 21 and 25 June and followed the 2022 edition of the festival. The three headlining acts were Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses and Elton John, with Yusuf / Cat Stevens performing in the Legends slot. لم Over 40 hours of television coverage of the festival was hosted by Jo Whiley, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders and Clara Amfo and aired on BBC iPlayer and several BBC channels. Over 85 hours of live radio coverage was broadcast on BBC Sounds. For the first time, British Sign Language was included for all Pyramid Stage performances. Several documentaries were released in the lead up to the festival and a selection of highlights from previous years was made available to stream.

The 2024 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is scheduled to take place between 26 and 30 June at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, and follows the 2023 edition of the festival. The three headlining acts are Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA, with Shania Twain performing in the traditional Sunday Legends slot.
