Gooseberry Beach is a beach located in Newport, Rhode Island off Ocean Drive. It is a private beach, but also open to the public. [1] The beach is located between Bailey's Beach and Hazard's Beach.
Gooseberry itself is nestled in a sort of cove, protected by a spit of land and several large boulders roughly 75 metres offshore at high tide, no more than 50 at low tide. [2]

Prescott Farm is a historic preservation of a colonial farm in Middletown, Rhode Island. It spans 40 acres, and was in danger of demolition before Doris Duke, through the Newport Restoration Foundation bought it in 1973 and began restoration of the historical site. Notable features of it include an operational windmill, British General Prescott's Guard House, a county store, and a University of Rhode Island Master Gardener project with the purpose of simulating a historical vegetable garden through careful research on what crops where grown during that time period. The farm itself is typical of the farms on Aquidneck Island.
Bar Rock is a small barren rock within Rhode Island Sound, in Westport, Massachusetts, USA. The rock is off the connector of Horseneck and Gooseberry Neck at the Horseneck Beach State Reservation. It's just north of the state reservation's campground.

The Battle of Rhode Island Site is the partially preserved location of the Battle of Rhode Island, fought August 29, 1778 during the American Revolutionary War. The battle took place in the town of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, located on Aquidneck Island north of Newport, and was the only major action of the war that took place in Rhode Island. It was also significant as the only battle of the war in which an entirely segregated unit of African-American soldiers fought. At the time of the action, the 1st Rhode Island Regiment consisted of companies of locally recruited African Americans and Native Americans with white officers. The two main areas associated with the battle were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974.

Fairholme is a Tudor style historic mansion in Newport, Rhode Island designed by Frank Furness and built by Furness & Hewitt in 1874-1875 for Fairman Rogers. One of the many "cottages" built during the Gilded Age on beachfront property in the Newport area, it is located on a parcel of 4.3 acres near the eastern end of Ruggles Avenue with an ocean frontage of 425 feet. It was remodeled in 1905 by John R. Drexel at a substantial cost but, after passing through the hands of Alphonso P. Villa, was sold before 1955, during the period when the rich were impacted by high tax rates, to Robert A. Young for $38,000.
