Gordon Cook (born December 3, 1978, in Toronto) is a two-time Canadian Olympic sailor. He sails for the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. He is the son of computer scientist Stephen Cook. [1]

Cook is a graduate of the Engineering Physics program at Queen's University. At Queen's University, he also met his 2012 Olympic team partner Ben Remocker, where they were members of the university sailing team. Cook and Remocker became the first Canadians to sail a 49er in an Olympic Regatta at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where they finished 14th.

In 2009 Cook partnered up with West Vancouver sailor Hunter Lowden and the two campaigned together for the 2012 Olympic games. While Cook and Lowden did not make the first round of qualifications at the 2011 ISAF worlds in December 2011 they did qualify at the 2012 49er worlds in Croatia making Cook the only person ever to represent Canada twice in the 49er Class at the Olympic Games. Cook and Lowden came third in the first race of the 49er class in the 2012 Olympic games, [2] but did not qualify for the medal race. [3]

In 2019 he became CEO and Wing trimmer for the Great Britain team racing in the newly formed SailGP, racing the F50 hydro foiling catamarans in a global racing circuit. In 2021 he joined the Japanese SailGP team as a Wing Trimmer. winning multiple events during the 2021/2022 SailGP season and finishing runners up overall.

Sailing competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 25 July to 4 August 2021 at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor in Enoshima. The venue was also used for the 1964 Olympic Games although significantly regenerated, the IOC now encouraging regeneration, cost reductions and sustainability. The RS:X, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, 470, 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra17 are all returning for 2020; there are no significant changes to the Olympic programme from 2016.

Sailing competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto will be held from July 12 to 19 at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club's ferry station and parking lot on the mainland side of the harbour. A total of ten events will be contested.

Rui Qi "Cecilia" Low is a Singaporean sailor. She competed in the 49er FX event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

This article details the qualifying phase for sailing at the 2024 Summer Olympics. 312 quota places for the Games are entitled to the sailors coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated regattas supervised by World Sailing. Host nation France reserves a single boat in each of the ten sailing classes, whereas four quota places are distributed to the NOCs competing in the men's ILCA 7 and women's ILCA 6 under the Tripartite Commission.
