Gordon Young is a Scottish football manager who was assistant manager of Hartlepool United.

Career

Young started his managerial career as youth manager of Scottish top flight side Motherwell. [1] In 2010, he was appointed manager of Motherwell. [2] In 2013, he was appointed youth manager of Sheffield United in the English third division. [3] In May 2016, following the departure of Mixu Paatelainen, Young was appointed caretaker manager of Scottish top flight club Dundee United for their two remaining league matches following their relegation from the Scottish Premiership. [4] Following this, he was appointed assistant manager of East Fife in Scottish League Two. [5]

In 2017, he was appointed manager of American youth team Impact Soccer Club. [6] In 2018, Young was appointed assistant manager of Falkirk in the Scottish Championship. [7] After that, he was appointed assistant manager of the Latvian National Team. [8] After that, he was then appointed manager of Latvian club side Liepāja. [9] In 2019, Young was appointed assistant manager of Cove Rangers in the Scottish League Two. [10]

Brian Welsh is a Scottish football coach and former player, who is currently owner and head coach of American club Northern Virginia United. Season 2008–09 for Hibernian was their tenth consecutive season of play in the Scottish Premier League. The SPL season began on 9 August 2008 with a 1–0 defeat at Kilmarnock. The team were eliminated from each cup competition at the first hurdle, due to defeats by IF Elfsborg in the last Intertoto Cup, Greenock Morton in the Scottish League Cup and Edinburgh derby rivals Hearts in the Scottish Cup. The team was inconsistent in the league, and only squeezed into the top six by a single point ahead of Motherwell. This led to the resignation of manager Mixu Paatelainen at the end of the season. One bright spot for the club was the performance of the under-19 team, which won the Scottish league & cup double.
