Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park, known earlier as the Gorewada Zoo, [1] is a zoo in the Nagpur district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Upon completion, this is likely to be one of the largest captive zoo safaris in India, covering over 1914 hectares of land adjoining Gorewada Lake.
In 2006, the Government of Maharashtra identified approximately 1,914 hectares of forest suitable for establishing the project, adjacent to Gorewada Lake and 8 km (5.0 mi) from the city of Nagpur. The project was entrusted to the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra. To make the zoo financially viable, the state government transferred an additional 26 hectares of non-forest land for commercial utilization.
The zoo was inaugurated by the erstwhile Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, on 26 January 2021. [2] [3] The project was renamed from the Gorewada Zoo to the Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park. [1]

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The airport is located at Sonegaon, 8 km (5 mi) southwest of Nagpur. The airport covers an area of 1,355 acres. In 2005, it was named after B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India and one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India. The airport handles around 8,500 passengers per day and caters to four domestic airlines and two international airlines connecting Nagpur to Sharjah, Doha, and 14 domestic destinations. The airport spread over 1,460 acres is also home to Nagpur Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. Growth in passenger traffic is fuelled by passengers traveling to and from the state capital Mumbai, located over 700 km (378 mi) away. The airport has one terminal and has two aerobridges.

It is the biggest economical development project currently underway in India in terms of investments. The project aims to exploit the central location of Nagpur and convert the present airport into a major cargo hub with integrated road and rail connectivity.
Maharajbagh zoo is the central zoo of Nagpur, India. The zoo is located in the heart of the city and has been built on the garden of the Bhonsle and Maratha rulers of the city. The zoo comes under the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) of India and is maintained by the Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PKV) of Nagpur. The zoo had come under scrutiny in 2006 for possible closure due to issues concerning animal healthcare but was cleared of all objections raised by CZA in 2007. The Government of Maharashtra has approved a new safari park of international standards next to Gorewada Lake in the city. Animals from Maharajbagh zoo would be moved to this new animal park but the older zoo will remain open for new animals.
Gorewada Lake is a water body in northwestern Nagpur. It is formed by 2,350 feet long dam wall.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden located in Vandalur, to southwest of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, about 31 kilometres (19 mi) from the Chennai Central and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Chennai Airport. Established in 1855, it is the second public zoo in India. It is affiliated with the Central Zoo Authority of India. Spread over an area of 602 hectares, including a 92.45-hectare (228.4-acre) rescue and rehabilitation centre. The zoo houses 2,553 species of flora and fauna across 1,265 acres (512 ha). As of 2012 the park houses around 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species, in its 160 enclosures. As of 2010, there were about 47 species of mammals, 63 species of birds, 31 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians, 28 species of fishes, and 10 species of insects in the park. The park, with an objective to be a repository of the state's fauna, is credited with being the second wildlife sanctuary in Tamil Nadu after Mudumalai National Park.
Nagpur Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. Phase I of the metro project cost was estimated to cost ₹8,650 crore but the final project cost incurred was ₹9,279 crore (US$1.2 billion). In February 2014, the Government of Maharashtra gave approval for the Metro project, while the Government of India's Ministry of Urban Development had given "In Principle" approval for the project. On 20 August 2014, Union Cabinet gave approval for the development of the project, and the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone on 21 August. Construction began on 31 May 2015, with trial run beginning on 30 September 2017.
Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis is an Indian politician who is serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 30 June 2022 alongside Ajit Pawar who was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the 5th time on 2 July 2023. He also served as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 31 October 2014 to 12 November 2019, Leader of the Opposition, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 2019 to 2022 and the President of BJP, Maharashtra state unit from 2013 to 2015. Having been sworn in at the age of 44, he is the second-youngest Chief Minister in Maharashtra's history after Sharad Pawar. He served a 5-day long second term as Chief Minister during the 2019 Maharashtra political crisis, before resigning on 28 November 2019. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Fadnavis has represented the Nagpur South West constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since 2009 and Nagpur West from 1999 to 2009. He was also Mayor of Nagpur from 1997 to 2001.
The Samruddhi Mahamarg or Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway and Maharashtra Expressway-2 (ME-2), is a partially opened 6-lane wide, 701-km long access-controlled expressway in Maharashtra, India. It is amongst the country's longest greenfield road projects, which will connect the two capital cities of the state, its capital, Mumbai, and its third-largest and alternate capital city, Nagpur. The project is being led by the state infrastructure arm Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), and is designed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model.
The Jalna-Nanded Expressway is a link road greenfield project that connects the largest cities of Marathwada to Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, which is also officially known as Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. Proposed as 6-lane wide, this segment will reduce the road distance between Jalna and Nanded from 226 kilometres to 179 kilometres and bring down travel time between Nanded and Mumbai from 12 hours to around 6 hours.
