Gourmet Foods is Pakistani chain of food products headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan. It has seven processing units across the country and over 100 stores in Lahore. [1] [2] [3]

It has outlets in Hafizabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Sargodha, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, many in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Chakwal, Gujrat, Layyah, Jalalpur Jattan, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Yazman. [3] It also has international outlets in London and New York City.

History

Gourmet Foods was founded by Muhammad Nawaz Chattha of a small village Kookan Wala near Hafizabad district gujranwala in 1987. A small confectionery shop was opened on September 10, 1987, in Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore, Pakistan. [3]

Other business ventures

The group currently owns a 12 percent stake in Silkbank and has also invested in the magazine publishing, furnishing, and pharmaceutical sectors. [1]

In 2018, the group ventured into the media industry and launched its news channel GNN . The channel is a re-branding of the previously existing Jaag TV network (formerly known as CNBC Pakistan), which Gourmet acquired in 2016 for Rs. 1.5 billion. [1]

The IT Company of the Group is Gicoh and its head office is based in Lahore.

Gujrat Division is an administrative division of the Punjab province of Pakistan, with it being headquartered in the Gujrat city. It came into being on 17 August 2022 after districts Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafizabad of the previously Gujranwala Division were grouped together in a separate division, increasing the number of divisions in the province to ten. The Wazirabad District was later on 14 October 2022 added under Gujrat Division making it a total of four districts. The change was made official after a notification issued by the Board of Revenue under section 5 of the Punjab Land Revenue Act 1967. Before this bifurcation, Gujranwala division was among the largest in the province, with a population of approximately 16 million.
