Government Birshestha Shahid Hamidur Rahman Degree College is an educational institution in Jhenaidah district in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh. The college currently offers courses in a variety of subjects in higher secondary, undergraduate, honors, and postgraduate classes. [1] [2] [3]
The college was established on 1 December 1999 at Khalishpur Bazar in Maheshpur Upazila of Jhenaidah district, Khulna division of Bangladesh. The college was made government in 2013. There is Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Library and Memorial Museum. In 2006, the government built the Hamidur Rahman Library and Memorial Museum in Khalishpur. The Kopotaksh River flows past the college. There are 36 bighas of khas land on the river bank and in front of the college. There is a factory here which is known as Nilkuthi. There are big mango trees of 100 years around the house. Here was a place to park a car and spend the afternoon. These were built in the eighteenth century. [4] [5] [6] [7]
At present higher education activities are also running. Honors course was introduced from 2016 to 2017 academic year. [8]

Hamidur Rahman, BS was a sepoy in Bangladesh Army during the Bangladesh Liberation War. Rahman was killed on 28 October 1971 at Dholoi during the Battle of Dhalai, Srimangal during an attempt to capture the Pakistani Army's position. The advancing Mukti Bahini column finally captured the Dhalai Border Outpost on 3 November 1971. He was posthumously awarded the Bir Sreshtho, the highest recognition of bravery in Bangladesh. The Dhalai post was eventually captured permanently by three infantry battalions belonging to 61 Mountain Brigade, one battalion belonging to East Bengal Regiment and 7 Rajputana Rifles supported by an artillery brigade of the Indian Army fought against 12 Frontier Force Regiment of the Pakistan Army.
Jhenaidah District is a district in southwestern Bangladesh. Part of the Khulna Division, the district has an area of 1,964.77 km2 (758.60 sq mi). It is bordered by Kushtia District to the north, Jessore District and West Bengal, India to the south, Rajbari District and Magura District to the east, and Chuadanga District and West Bengal, India to the west. The largest city and headquarter of this district is Jhenaidah. At the beginning of the British rule Jhenaidah was a police outpost and was turned into a thana in 1793. It is the smallest district in Bangladesh. The Jhenaidah sub-division was established in 1862. It became a district in 1984.

Jashore Government City College is a post graduate educational institution located in Manihar area of Jashore District town in Khulna division of southern Bangladesh. At the time of its establishment, it was known as Jessore City College, which has been known as Jessore Government City College since 1986.
