Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Chandigarh also known as GCCBA Chandigarh is a constituent college of the Panjab University, located in Chandigarh, India. It is an initiative of the Chandigarh Administration. GCCBA was established with a view to cater to growing demand for commerce and management education in Chandigarh. Since its inception, the college is co-educational. [1]
The Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA) is the only college in Chandigarh that deals exclusively with the streams of commerce and management. Approval to start the college was granted by General (Retired) Sunith Francis Rodrigues, the then Governor of Punjab, and Administrator, UT Chandigarh in September 2006. [2]
The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh, General (Retd.) Sunith Francis Rodrigues, PVSM, VSM, accorded the approval for the start of the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration on 15 September 2006.
After grant of affiliation by Panjab University, the first academic session (2007–08) commenced with 185 students. Presently there are around 600 students on the rolls.
The institute shifted to its permanent campus in Sector 50 in October 2015.

Panjab University (PU) is an Indian collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on 1 October 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University. General Sunith Francis Rodrigues, PVSM, VSM was an Indian army officer who was Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army from 1990 to 1993 and Governor of Punjab from 2004 to 2010.

With over 65 million digitized pages, it is the biggest resource of digital material on Panjab. There are many historically significant documents stored and made available online. Its scope covers Sikh and Punjabi culture. The library funded by The Nanakshahi Trust was launched online in August 2009. Its base office is located at Chandigarh, India.
