Northpoint Christian School (NCS) is a private, coeducational, college preparatory Christian school located in Southaven, Mississippi. NCS was founded by a group of Baptist ministers looking to establish a school in the Whitehaven section of Memphis, Tennessee, in 1973. Founded in 2005 by President Rick Hermanns and the administrator, Kira Brown Wilson, under the name Veritas Preparatory Academy it began in Pinellas Park, Florida with 91 students. Serving students K-12th grade, Veritas moved to the campus of Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS)in the fall of 2008 at which time Veritas Preparatory Academy became Veritas Academy in Largo, Florida. Cross Classical Academy is a private, Christian, university-model school in Brownwood, Texas. It is Brownwood's only university-model school—a fast-growing alternative education model and example of the resurgent classical education movement—and one of only 21 in Texas and 51 in the United States. Following a small pilot program during the 2010-2011 school year, Cross Classical opened in fall 2011 on the campus of Union Presbyterian Church in downtown Brownwood. Chávez Huerta K-12 Preparatory Academy is a charter school system in Pueblo, Colorado. It is divided into two campuses: César Chávez Academy (CCA), the elementary-middle school; and Dolores Huerta Preparatory High School (DHPH), the only charter high school in Pueblo. DHPH serves roughly 400 students in grades 9 through 12. The school's charter is held within Pueblo City Schools. In 2013 and 2014, DHPH was the only Pueblo area high school, including those in both District 60 and Pueblo County School District 70, to be nationally recognized by the U.S. News & World Report as a best high school in the nation.
UMS-Wright is an independent co-educational preparatory school in Mobile, Alabama. The school was founded in 1893 as University Military School, and in 1988 it combined with Julius T Wright School for Girls to form UMS-Wright Preparatory School.
