Green Corn Revival (often abbreviated GCR) was an American rock band from Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Green Corn Revival was first formed in early 2009 by singer/songwriter Jared Deck. After disbanding his previous project, alternative rock band The Voice Of, Deck and drummer Kenny Holloway began writing and arranging the songs that would become the genesis of Green Corn Revival. [1] The pair were soon joined by The Voice Of bassist Ryan Houck, and the three would become the core of GCR's earliest lineup, which also included Houck's wife Natalie as vocalist, keyboardist Caleb Creed and lead guitarist Kyle Burrows. [2] This lineup would release the three-song Oklahoma EP in August 2009. By February 2010, Burrows had left the band, replaced by Stephen Rozzell. The lineup also added bassist Miles Johnson, allowing Ryan Houck to move to dobro, banjo, and pedal steel. [3]
The band was invited to take part in rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson's showcase at SXSW 2010, providing significant exposure for the new band. [4] [5] [6] [7] Green Corn Revival released their first full-length album, Say You're a Sinner, later in 2010 to positive reviews. [8] [9] [10] Soon after the album was completed, the band's lineup again changed, with Tyler Paul replacing Kenny Holloway on drums and Jacy Deck replacing Caleb Creed on keyboards.[ citation needed ] Green Corn Revival's relationship with Wanda Jackson continued after Say You're a Sinner, with the band backing her for a sold out album release party in Oklahoma City in January 2011. [11] [12] [13] The band continued to gain recognition around the Southwest, opening for Eve 6's reunion appearance at SWOSUPalooza in April 2011. [14] Jared and Jacy Deck married in the summer of 2011, becoming the second married couple to be part of the band. [15] The band's lineup changed again later that year, with Holloway returning after Paul's departure to join country band Loomis Road [16] and new bassist Brandon Cink, who had previously played with Deck in a band in college, replacing Johnson. This new lineup played at the Access Music Festival in January 2012. [17] [18] The band performed for their second time at SXSW in 2012. [12]
In April 2012, Holloway and the Houcks decided to amicably part ways with Green Corn Revival and form Honeylark with former GCR keyboardist Caleb Creed. [19] [20] The band recruited vocalist Cora Brinkley-Gutel, bassist Clayton Roffey and drummer Drew Simmons to fill out the band's lineup. [21] The band continued with live performances around Oklahoma as well as nationally, including playing the Norman Music Festival in 2013. [22] The band's second full-length album, titled Bound For Glory, was released November 5, 2013. [23] The album's first single, "Hard Timin' Monopolizin' Blues", received a music video, [24] which featured Southwestern Oklahoma State University students and members of the Weatherford community. The band filled 2014 with live performances in support of the new album, including performing at the historic Cain's Ballroom in February, again sharing the bill with Wanda Jackson for OKC Fest in June, [25] and performing at SWOSU's "Dawg Days" new student orientation in August. Green Corn Revival played their final show on September 5, 2014 for Live Music On The Canal in Oklahoma City. [27] During the following months, frontman Jared Deck began performing solo shows around western Oklahoma. [28] On March 14, 2015, a post on the official GCR Facebook page teased a "big announcement" coming the following week. [29] Three days later, on St. Patrick's Day, Green Corn Revival announced on Facebook and the band's official site that they had decided to "retire Green Corn Revival and move in a different direction." [23] Deck also announced his decision to pursue a solo career under his own name.
Nothingface was an American heavy metal band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1993. Their best-known and most prolific line-up consisted of Matt Holt (vocals), Tom Maxwell (guitar), Bill Gaal (bass) and Chris Houck (drums). They disbanded in 2004, only to reform the following year, reuniting with Gaal and Houck, and then disband four years later. In 2017, Matt Holt died from a degenerative disease.

Chromatics is an American electronic music band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2001. The band consists of Ruth Radelet, Adam Miller, Nat Walker, and Johnny Jewel. The band originally featured a trademark sound indebted to punk and lo-fi that was described as "noisy" and "chaotic". After numerous lineup changes, which left guitarist Adam Miller as the sole original member, the band began releasing material on the Italians Do It Better record label in 2007, with their style streamlined into an Italo disco-influenced sound.
The Sound of Animals Fighting was an American rock supergroup founded by Rich Balling of Rx Bandits. In the band's initial run, they released a trilogy of records between 2004 and 2008, and performed only four live shows, following their second release in 2006. The band's live lineup consisted of 12 different musicians. The band often employed the use of animal masks to conceal their identity.
Paw was an American alternative rock band from Lawrence, Kansas, United States, that was formed in 1990. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Mark Hennessy, guitarist Grant Fitch, bassist Charles Bryan, and drummer Peter Fitch. They released two studio albums – Dragline and Death To Traitors, the B-side and outtake collection Keep The Last Bullet For Yourself and the EP Home Is A Strange Place before disbanding in 2000. On two occasions they have reunited.

They are best known for their positive reviews by NPR, Currently the Ghosty lineup consists of Andrew Connor, Mike Nolte, David Wetzel and Josh Adams (drumset). Ghosty completed a coast-to-coast tour of the United States at the end of 2006 and began working on a new full-length album, Answers, which was released on January 11. Their most recent self-titled album was released on High Dive Records.

Capital Lights was an American Christian pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Formed in 2002 as Aftereight, the band changed its name after signing to Tooth & Nail Records in 2008. The group initially disbanded in 2009, but reunited in late 2010. Presently, the group is on indefinite hiatus.
Wild Rose was an American country music band founded in 1988 by five women: Pamela Gadd, Kathy Mac, Pam Perry, Nancy Given, and Wanda Vick. Between 1988 and 1991, they recorded three studio albums, including two on Liberty Records. In that same time span, they charted three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Since their disbanding in 1991, Wanda Vick has worked as a session musician. Gadd has continued to write and perform in the music industry, and was featured as part of country music legend Porter Wagoner's band until his death in 2007. Gadd and Wagoner recorded an album of duets together.
The Chop Tops were a rockabilly trio from Santa Cruz, California consisting of Sinner, Shelby (guitar), and Josh. The band was formed by Sinner in 1995, Shelby joined in 1999, and Josh took over bass duties in 2014. The band coined the phrase "Revved-Up Rockabilly" to describe their wild, upbeat blend of rockabilly, psychobilly, old punk, teddy boy, and surf music genres. The Chop Tops headlined their own national tours, toured with bands like Mad Sin and the Nekromantix, and opened for many bands including the Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, Dick Dale, John Lee Hooker, and Chuck Berry.
Scarlet Fever is an all-female backing band that toured with Cee Lo Green during 2010 and 2011. Originally formed for promotional tour events, the popularity of the "Fuck You" single and The Lady Killer album led to multiple television appearances reaching an audience of millions in Europe and North America. With Green, they performed full length concerts and as an opening act for other major performers.

Muddy Roots began in 2010 as an annual music festival at the June Bug Boogie Ranch in Cookeville, Tennessee. The music festival included camping, vendors, a car show, and a pin-up pageant. In 2012, the festival expanded to Europe at the Cowboy Up Steakhouse Saloon in Waardamme, Belgium and featured the same blend of musical styles as the festival held in Tennessee. Muddy Roots announced a third separate festival would be held in May 2013 at the Red River Canoe Campground in Adams, Tennessee, called the Muddy Roots Spring Weekender. All of the Muddy Roots music festivals featured musicians of varying genres, including country, blues, rock and roll, rockabilly, punk rock, bluegrass, and folk.
The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die is an American indie rock band formed in Willimantic, Connecticut, in 2009. They released their debut album Whenever, If Ever in 2013 to generally positive reviews, followed by Harmlessness in 2015 and Always Foreign in 2017. They have also released a number of EPs and splits, including a collaboration with spoken word artist Christopher Zizzamia, entitled Between Bodies, in late 2014. According to their Facebook page, their "lineup is constantly expanding and contracting. Recording and live performance lineups vary." Bassist Josh Cyr is the sole founding member who is still part of the group.
