Greg Fives (1949 - 15 October 2008) was an Irish Gaelic footballer and hurler. [1]
Born in Abbeyside, County Waterford, Fives first played competitive Gaelic football and hurling in his youth. At club level he played with Abbeyside–Ballinacourty.[ citation needed ]
In retirement from playing Fives became involved in team management and coaching. At club level he served as a selector with Abbeyside and Ballinacourty, while at inter-county level he was manager of the Waterford senior football and intermediate hurling teams. [2]

Michael "Brick" Walsh is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays for Waterford Championship club Stradbally. He played for the Waterford senior hurling team for 17 seasons, during which time he lined out in a variety of positions. Often considered one of Waterford's greatest-ever players, Walsh won four All-Stars and is one of just three players to claim awards in defence, midfield and attack. He won five major trophies during his inter-county career, including three Munster Championships and two National Leagues, however, an All-Ireland Championship eluded him. Walsh holds the all-time record for championship appearances with 76.

The Nire and Fourmilewater are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry. The Nire is a half parish with Touraneena, while Fourmilewater is a half parish with Newcastle, County Tipperary. The Nire play in yellow and blue, while Fourmilewater play in blue and white. The related Ballymacarby Ladies' Football club has also enjoyed much success, winning 10 All Ireland titles.
