Charles Gregory Higdon (born May 13,1947) is an American politician from Kentucky who was a member of the Kentucky Senate from 1981 to 1991. Higdon was first elected in a November 1981 special election following the resignation of incumbent senator Richard Weisenberger. [1] He was then elected to full terms in 1983 and 1988. Higdon resigned in December 1991 to become deputy secretary of the Kentucky Natural Resources Cabinet. [2]
In 2018,Higdon unsuccessfully ran for Judge/Executive of Graves County.
Higdon was born to C.V. and Mabel Higdon in Paducah,Kentucky,and "lived [his] entire life" in Fancy Farm,Kentucky. [3] He earned a degree in business administration from Brescia College in 1969. [3]

Ernest Lee Fletcher is an American physician and politician who was the 60th governor of Kentucky from 2003 to 2007. He previously served three consecutive terms in the United States House of Representatives before resigning after being elected governor. A member of the Republican Party,Fletcher was a family practice physician and a Baptist lay minister and is the second physician to be elected Governor of Kentucky;the first was Luke P. Blackburn in 1879. He was also the first Republican governor of Kentucky since Louie Nunn left office in 1971.

Wallace Glenn Wilkinson was an American businessman and politician from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. From 1987 to 1991,he served as the state's 57th governor. Wilkinson dropped out of college at the University of Kentucky in 1962 to attend to a book retail business he started. The business rapidly became a national success,and Wilkinson re-invested his profits in real estate,farming,transportation,banking,coal,and construction ventures,becoming extremely wealthy. In 1987,he joined a crowded field in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. After running behind two former governors and the sitting lieutenant governor for most of the race,Wilkinson began to climb in the polls after hiring then-unknown campaign consultant James Carville. Wilkinson campaigned on a promise of no new taxes and advocated a state lottery as an alternative means of raising money for the state. Wilkinson surprised most political observers by winning the primary and going on to defeat his Republican challenger in the general election.
Kentucky Educational Television (KET) is a statewide television network serving the U.S. commonwealth of Kentucky,a member of PBS. It is operated by the Kentucky Authority for Educational Television,an agency of the Kentucky state government,which provides more than half of its annual funding. Richard Dwight Farmer Jr. is an American former collegiate basketball player and Republican Party politician from the U.S. state of Kentucky. He served as the Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture from 2004 to 2012 and was the running mate of David L. Williams in the 2011 gubernatorial election. After leaving office,Farmer was investigated for violating state campaign finance laws and misappropriating state resources and was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison along with a concurrent 12 months in state prison.
Rooster Run is a general store in Nelson County,Kentucky. Joe Evans opened the store in 1967. It was known for the baseball caps featuring its logo and the fiberglass rooster statue standing in front of the store. It has been called "one of the best-known general stores in the country and one of Kentucky's best-known unincorporated businesses". Though not an official Kentucky community,the location is on state highway maps and receives mail with the zip code of Cox's Creek. Evans used the store's notoriety in unsuccessful bids for political office.
