Guru Films is a media company in film and television production, animation, publishing and digital media. The company is based out of Hyderabad. [1]

In 2009-2010, Guru Films line produced for a Mumbai production house and the Hindi film, ‘Shor In The City’. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Apart from movies in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, the production house has also produced TV shows for Zee Telugu and Star Maa channels. [6]

In 2019, Guru Films along with Suresh Productions, Kross Pictures, and People's Media Factory produced Oh! Baby, starring Samantha Akkineni in the titular role. [7]

Collaborating again with Suresh Productions and Kross Pictures, in 2021, Guru Films released the Telugu remake of Midnight Runners titled Saakini Daakini with Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas in the titular roles in this action-comedy [8] and Dongalunnaru Jaagratha , a survival crime thriller starring Simha Koduri, and Samuthirakani. [9]

In 2022, Guru Films is working on an international project Chennai Story with director Philip John and the project so far has tied up ‘Blinded By The Light’ Star Viveik Kalra [10]

The film, produced by Maheshwari Sathyaraj under the banner Nathambal Film Factory, has music composed by Simon K. King and was released worldwide on 8 December 2017.

<i>Mahanati</i> 2018 film directed by Nag Ashwin

Mahanati is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language biographical drama film based on the life of actress Savitri. It is written and directed by Nag Ashwin, and produced by Priyanka Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The film features Keerthy Suresh as Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan plays Savitri's husband Gemini Ganesan. The film also stars Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda, along with Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, and Bhanupriya who appear in supporting roles. Naga Chaitanya and Mohan Babu, among others, play guest appearances. The plot follows Savitri's life, depicting her turbulent rise to prominence, marriage with Ganesan, and subsequent fall from grace, which is viewed from the perspective of a journalist and a photographer, played by Samantha and Deverakonda respectively.

Oh! Baby is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language fantasy comedy film directed by B. V. Nandini Reddy. The film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Lakshmi. A remake of the 2014 South Korean film Miss Granny, the plot follows a woman in her 70s (Lakshmi) who magically finds herself turned into a 24-year-old self (Samantha) after having her picture taken at a mysterious photo studio. Naga Shaurya, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, and Sajja Teja play supporting roles. The music was composed by Mickey J. Meyer.

<i>Manmadhudu 2</i> 2019 film by Rahul Ravindran

Manmadhudu 2 is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film directed by Rahul Ravindran. It is produced by Nagarjuna and P. Kiran under Annapurna Studios, Anandi Art Creations and Viacom18 Studios. It stars Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh, with music composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj. The film is an official remake of the French film I Do (2006) and is a spiritual successor to Nagarjuna's Manmadhudu (2002). The film opened up to negative reviews and became a box-office bomb.

Viveik Kalra is an English actor. His breakout role came in 2019's Blinded by the Light, directed by Gurinder Chadha.

Chennai Story is an upcoming English rom com adaption of the Timeri N. Murari's 2004 novel The Arrangements of Love, starring Viveik Kalra and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, written and directed by Philip John, co - written by Nimmi Harasgama and produced by Sunitha Tati on Guru Films.
