Gyan Dev Ahuja is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party and a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly representing the Ramgarh Vidhan Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. He hails from Sindhi Community. [1] [2]
On 24 December 2017,Ahuja gained controversy after he claimed that people who smuggle and slaughter cows would be killed. [3]
On 30 July 2018,he praised cow vigilantes for lynching an alleged cow smuggler in Lalawandi village while also claiming that cow slaughter was a bigger crime than terrorism. [4]
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002,when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant,until he resigned on 21 July 2007,after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),a leading member of the National Democratic Alliance at the time of election. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times,from 1977 to 1980,1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. He represented several constituencies in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha from 1952 to 2002. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 2003.
The Jammu &Kashmir National Panthers Party is a state political party in the state of Jammu and Kashmir,India. The party was founded on 23 March 1982 by Prof. Bhim Singh and a few prominent youth political personalities of the time including Jay Mala,former President of the Indian Students Congress. Its aim is to "demolish corruption,communalism,criminalization,drug menace" and to establish a real democracy through ultimate revolution. Panthers Party had campaigned for over three decades for the abolition of Article 370 and Article 35A,demanding that the special status of the State of Jammu and Kashmir be revoked,and for it to be fully assimilated into the Republic of India. These demands were finally met by a presidential order in August 2019 that revoked Jammu and Kashmir's special status. Panthers Party campaigns for a further division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,with the recognition of Hindu-majority Jammu Division as a new and separate state of India. In 2017,Ankit Love,the son of Bhim Singh and Jay Mala,announced his candidacy for Prime Minister of India for the 2019 Indian general election. He became the party's leader on 28 May 2017. On 23 June 2021,Panthers Party President Prof. Bhim Singh was reported in the media as a potential candidate for the 2022 Indian vice presidential election,as recommended for nomination by Ankit Love,just prior to meeting Prime Minister Modi at his residence for special dialogue in regards to the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir.

Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term,the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. The election led to a hung assembly,with the INC emerging as the single largest party and the BJP winning the popular vote.

Kumari died of a swine flu infection on 28 August 2017. She was fifty years old.

In India,cow vigilante violence is the use of physical force in the name of "cow protection". Since 2014,mob attacks targeting mostly illegal cow smugglers,but in some cases even licensed cow traders,have become prominent. There is a debate on whether there has actually been any change in the number of such incidences,as Government Data points out to reduced communal tensions post 2014. Cattle slaughter is banned in most states of India. Recently emerged cow vigilante groups,claiming to be protecting cattle,have been violent leading to a number of deaths. Cow-protection groups see themselves as preventing theft,protecting the cow or upholding the law in an Indian state which bans cow slaughter. According to a Reuters report,a total of 63 cow vigilante attacks had occurred in India between 2010 and mid 2017,most after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014. In these attacks between 2010 and June 2017,"28 Indians –24 of them Muslims –were killed and 124 injured",states the Reuter's report.
