H. (Harold) Abram Wilson (born 1946) is a Republican politician and a former mayor of San Ramon, California.
Wilson was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1946, the son of two educators. His great grandfather had been one of the first physicians in South Carolina. He also lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a child.
Wilson attended Central State University, where he was the president of his senior class. He spent his summers in San Francisco. While in college, he studied voice and has performed in professional chorus' and earned a BS in Biochemistry.
A proud veteran, in 1969 he entered the United States Army. When he reported for duty in Ft. Bragg, his superiors asked him if he was a member of the Black Panthers, due to his having arrived from San Francisco. [1]
When he returned to civilian life, he worked as a federal funds trader at Wells-Fargo.
H. Abram Wilson is married to Dr. Karen B. Wilson. He has 2 children, Natausha Wilson-Cruz and P. Nathan Wilson.
Wilson was elected to the San Ramon City Council in November 1999, appointed mayor in 2002, and became the City of San Ramon’s first elected mayor in 2003. He was re-elected in 2005. Wilson was the 2005 recipient of the National Music Educator Association, State Legislator of the Year award "for his support of music education in the schools." [2]
Wilson unsuccessfully ran for State Assembly in 2008. He ran in California's 15th district against Democrat Joan Buchanan. Assembly District 15 includes areas of Contra Costa, Alameda, Sacramento, and San Joaquin counties. Buchanan won the election by 52% to 48% .

The Richmond City Council is the governing body for the city of Richmond, California. The council consists of the Mayor of Richmond and six other city council members, one designated Vice Mayor. The council members are all elected from the whole city; no members are elected by district or ward. The council members are elected to four-year terms, as opposed to the previous six-year terms. They are not all elected at once. The council members meet every first and third Tuesday of the month and, if necessary, hold special meetings on the remaining Tuesdays. Presently the entire city council is Democratic.
John E. Márquez is an American politician and activist who has held various positions in Richmond, California city government. For eighteen years, Márquez served as a city councilman. He was the first Latino to serve on the Richmond City Council. Originally he was an appointee to the council in 1985 and won an election to that seat in 1987; he subsequently lost his second bid in 1991. He was elected again in 1993 and twice more in 1997 and 2004. In 1990 and 1998, he served as vice mayor. Márquez was defeated for re-election in 2008, and lost a mayoral bid in 2001 to Gayle McLaughlin. Thomas Allen Torlakson is an American educator and politician from California. In 2010, he was elected to the position of California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, a position he served in until 2019. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Richard Rainey was an American politician from Walnut Creek, California, a suburb in the San Francisco Bay Area. He served in the California State Assembly from 1992 until 1996 and then served in the State Senate from 1996 until 2000 when he was defeated for reelection by Tom Torlakson, a Democratic Assemblyman from Antioch. In 1995, Mr. Rainey was named Legislator of the Year by the California Probation & Parole Correctional Association. Also, during the 1995–96 legislative session, Mr. Rainey served as Chairman of the Assembly Local Government Committee when the Republicans briefly had a majority in the State Assembly.
Joan T. Buchanan is a former Democratic Party public official and former school board member from Alamo, California. She was a member of the California State Assembly from 2008 to 2014.

Tony Krajewski Thurmond is an American politician and educator who is the 28th and current California State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Thurmond was narrowly elected Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2018 over his opponent, Marshall Tuck. He was the endorsed candidate of the California Democratic Party and all five 2018 California Teachers of the Year. A Democrat, he represented the 15th Assembly district from 2014 to 2018, encompassing the northern East Bay.
