Two ships of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) have been named HMAS Armidale, for the city of Armidale, New South Wales.

HMAS Armidale (J240), a Bathurst-class corvette launched in January 1942 and sunk by Japanese aircraft on 1 December 1942; the only ship of the class lost to enemy action
A Fremantle-class patrol boat announced in August 1980 was to be named Armidale, but the vessel was cancelled before construction
HMAS Armidale (ACPB 83), the lead ship of the Armidale-class patrol boats, was commissioned in 2005 and is active as of 2016

Two vessels of the Royal Australian Navy have been named HMAS Broome, for the town of Broome, Western Australia.

HMAS Kuru was an auxiliary patrol boat operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) during World War II. Constructed in 1938 for the Northern Territory Patrol Service, Kuru was requisitioned by the RAN following the Japanese declaration of war in December 1941. The ship operated from Darwin, and was one of the vessels used to keep Allied troops in Timor resupplied following the Japanese invasion. Kuru operated until 1943, when she was damaged beyond repair in an accident.

HMAS Vigilant was an auxiliary patrol boat serving with the Royal Australian Navy during the Second World War. Notably it was the 120th ship built by the Cockatoo Island Dockyard and the first aluminium ship built in Australia.
