HRC Group is a large Bangladeshi industrial conglomerates. [4] [5] The industries under this conglomerate include media, agriproducts, tea, real estate, finance, shipping etc. [6] The Chairperson of the group is Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, brother of Saber Hossain Chowdhury, an Awami League member of parliament and son of entrepreneur Hedayet Hossain Chowdhury, founder of Karnaphuli Group, another Bangladeshi conglomerate. History

The group established on 14 March 1991 as Shipping Agency for Chittagong and Mongla ports by entrepreneur Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury. [1] Since then it has expanded to more than 20 subsidiaries.

On 10 December 1998, two security guards of the group were killed during the robbery at the HRC Group headquarters in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. [8]

In July 2008, the chairperson of the group, Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, was arrested by joint forces on charges of money laundering and tax evasion. [9] He received bail on 28 August 2008. [10]

The Sponsor director of HRC Group, Farzana Chowdhury, was elected vice-chairperson in June 2009. [11]

In July 2020, Chairperson of the HRC Group Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury was removed from the post of Chairperson of One Bank Limited by Bangladesh Bank due to subsidiaries of HRC Group defaulting on loans from various banks. [12]

Bashundhara Group is a Bangladeshi conglomerate and one of the largest manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. It was incorporated in 1987 as a real estate company under the name East West Property Development Ltd (EWPD). After its first project turned out to be successful, the company grew quickly. It presently owns more than 50 major concerns throughout Bangladesh. The company's import-export turnover was $1.12 billion or BDT 111.38 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year. In the 2018 fiscal year, the company's real estate holdings amounted to BDT 50,000 crores, or $4.6 billion.

ONE Bank PLC (OBPLC) is a public limited commercial bank in Bangladesh. It is in the business of taking deposits from public through various saving schemes and lending the fund in various sectors at a higher margin. A.S.M. Shahidullah Khan is chairman and Md. Monzur Mofiz is the managing director of One Bank PLC.

Meghna Group is one of the largest Bangladeshi conglomerates. The industries under this conglomerate include automobile, light engineering, bicycle, tire, cement, packaging, textile etc. Meghna Group was established by Bangladeshi entrepreneur Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan. It is Bangladesh's largest bicycle manufacturer and exporter. The company sales bicycle as well as in countries like Germany, UK and other parts of Europe. Meghna Group is one of the top garments manufacturer in Bangladesh exporting to Europe high end fashion brands. Meghna group is a renowned car distributor with a proven track record of successfully launching and promoting various automobile brands like BMW, KIA, and Ford in Bangladesh. Recently, the company has started car manufacturing under the name of Meghna Car Manufacturing Ltd.

Ha-Meem Group is one of the largest Bangladeshi conglomerates in textile and garments sector. It owns 26 garments factories, sweater factory, poly bag industry, label factory, jute mill, chemical formulation plant, tea estates, transport company, Channel 24 and Samakal, a widely circulated national daily newspaper. The newspaper are under Times Media Limited of Ha-Meem Group. It employs 50 thousand people.

Metro Group is a Bangladeshi diversified conglomerate based in Dhaka. It is the parent company of Best Holding Limited which owns Le Meridien Dhaka.

Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat is a Bangladeshi businessman connected to the Awami League government. Sarafat is the founder chairman of the board of trustees of Canadian University of Bangladesh. He was the chairman of Padma Bank.

Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury is a retired judge of the Bangladesh High Court.

Mohammad Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan (Manik) is a Bangladeshi businessman, sports organizer, and politician. He is the chairman of Toma Group, a major Bangladeshi conglomerate. He is the vice-president of the Bangladesh Football Federation, the associate of FIFA in Bangladesh.

Uttara Group of Industries is a Bangladeshi diversified conglomerate based in Dhaka founded by Giridhari Lal Modi, a Marwari businessman.
