The first season of the television series HaShminiya was originally broadcast on Arutz HaYeladim (HOT) in Israel.

Season overview

Amos Dvir, Avner HaLevy and Roberto, three scientists, investigate cerebral energy called "The Lambda Ripples". They want to have an experiment that will include six amnestied kids. After that development, Avner and Amos decide to delay it for some years. Disappointed, Roberto is co-operating with Lillie Dvir, Amos' wife, and these two operate the experiment on Amos and Lillie's kids, three-year-old Maya and Jonathan. It doesn't work and explodes, but the kids stay alive. Roberto is going to jail for six years and Lillie is leaving Israel after divorcing Amos.

The show starts seven years later. Amos is dying of cancer, so he decides urge his kids into adolescence – to the age of fifteen with his machine Turbo-Time, which can change your age, and changes their names to Aya and Nini. Avner raises a project for amnestied students and Amos is asking him to attach Aya and Nini to the project. Amos is flying to medical treatments in Switzerland, while Aya and Nini think he's dead.

Avner forms "The Octette" and recruits eight amnestied students to investigate the ripples. In addition to solving riddles and saving the countries and themselves from hostile forces, the octette is acting like a similar class with loves and friendships: Aya and Adam are in love at first sight. Nini and Roni and Mika and Avi are becoming couples too. Surprisingly, Lillie is coming back from abroad to raise her children. At the same time, she and Roberto are co-operating and follow the project to avenge Amos and Avner.

A substitute teacher named Dedi joins the school and begins a relationship with Dganit, the class's teacher. At the same time Lillie gains control of the prjocet and is ready to use the octette like batteries and pump the lambda energy from them. Lillie threatens the octette, almost kills Adam and Dganit, goes to jail and disappoints her two kids. Aya and Nini are shocked to know that her father is alive, and he is a person that they knew so far as their history teacher – Dedi. In spite of the project's success, Avner and Dganit decide to end it because risk to the students and a possible exposure of the project. The students scattered in couples all over the classes. Dganit and her son Ben-Ben move to Dedi, Nini and Aya's place. The season ends when Nini is returning to be Jonathan and Aya is having doubts, when Adam is asking not to do this.

One day before school starts, a top secret project featuring 6 talented students is about to go underway. In the last moment 2 new students join the project- Aya and Nini. Their cover story is that they came from America, but in fact they are 10 years old twins whose father, the scientist Amos, put inside a time machine, to make them look 5 years older.

School starts. Aya and Nini come to the class, trying to get used to their new age. Roberto keeps plotting diabolical plans. Avner shows Dganit the class she is going to work with this year, but doesn't reveal all details about the project.

The Octette starts working. Aya and Nini meet Asia, who took care of them when they were small children. It appears that Amos asked her to take care of them now too. Adam and Natasha decide not to tell anyone about their romantic past. Avi moves to live with Mika and her parents. Roberto fails in his attempts to find Amos and the kids.

The Octette is preparing a lecture in pairs. Rotem looking for the Maya and Yonantan and finds Aya and Nini. Mika and Avi are going to Doron's television studio. Asia gets a message from Amos. Roni hides Ilan the true age.

The four couples are lecturing. Roni is saving Nini from mistaking in front of the entire class. The newspapers are slaying Doron's mistakes. Avner is caught breaking into Aya and Nini's house, trying to figure where are Maya, Yonatan and Amos. Asia is planning to tell Aya and Nini the real story about their father - Amos.

Aya and Nini deal with the death of their father. Ben Ben gets math lessons from Roberto, who pretend to be a private teacher. Mika apologizes to her father. Doron starts working with a physiotherapist after his fall. Ilan gets to Roni's house, makes her a surprise breakfast, and bumps into her sister Eli, who tells him Roni is lying about her true age.

Ilan gets to school to look for Roni. Natasha tells him that year 12 is on a trip, and he leaves. Roni tells Natasha the truth about her relationship with Ilan. Rotem asks Aya to bring a letter to Maya. The relationships between Doron and Eli tighten, and Avi thinks they have an affair. Rohale discovers the truth about "The Octette", after receiving photographs from a photographer she hired, that show the hidden screens in the class. She threatens to close the project
81–8"Maya'le"June 16, 2005 (2005-06-16)
Rohale finds out that the owner of the project is a government minister, and toadies him. Eli is angry that Roni is lying to Ilan about her age, and threatens to tell Ilan herself. Avi suspects that Doron has an affair, and tells Mika about that. Adam picks on Nini and insults him for vomiting during a 2,000 meters run in P.E. class. Aya talks with Rotem at ICQ. Roni prepares to tell Ilan to truth.
91–9"LSR"June 19, 2005 (2005-06-19)
Avner tells Dganit the truth about the project. Roberto stays alone with Ben Ben, after Dganit is called to Avner's house to meet the minister. Aya tells Nini that she talked with Rotem at ICQ. Natasha's bag is torn, and Dori plans to fix it for her. The children of The Octette receive new and mysterious equipment, and are dealing with an especially hard challenge. Avi and Mika are worried about the relationships of Doron and Eli. Ilan is rushed into the hospital unconscious after his army force got on explosives.

Set between 2010 and 2014, the show follows the lives of the students and faculty of Finnegan High over a four-year period, where the characters deal with such topics as romantic relationships, friendships, acceptance, self-worth and the importance of community. The first half of Season 1 is set during the main characters’ Grade 9 year, while the remainder of Season 1 until the end of Season 2 is set during their Grade 10 year. The remainder of the series spans their Grade 11 year, with the final two episodes being set in June 2014, shortly before the students graduate Grade 12. The show ended its run on November 28, 2013, with three seasons and 80 episodes.
