Habibul Islam Habib is a politician who is secretary of publication affairs of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party [1] and a former member of parliament for Satkhira-1. [2] [3]
Habib was elected to parliament from Satkhira-1 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 2001. [4] In 2015,he was charged with attacking a convoy of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Satkhira in 2002. [5] [6]

The 21 August 2004 Dhaka grenade attack took place at an anti-terrorism rally organised by Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue on 21 August 2004. The attack left 24 dead and more than 500 injured. The attack was carried out at 5:22 pm after Sheikh Hasina,the leader of opposition had finished addressing a crowd of 20,000 people from the back of a truck. Hasina also sustained some injuries in the attack. The involvement of BNP-Jamaat led government is still debated.

He is the organising secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Dulu was born in Natore Sadar Upazila,Natore District. He was a regular practitioner lawyer. Along with his legal career,he was also active in politics. In 1977,he joined the BNP's student organisation,Chhatra Dal.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 30 December 2018 to elect 300 directly-elected members of the Jatiya Sangsad. General elections were held in Bangladesh on 7 January 2024 in accordance with the current constitutional requirement,stating that elections must take place within the 90-day period before the expiration of the current term of the Jatiya Sangsad on 29 January 2024. The Awami League,led by incumbent Sheikh Hasina,won the election for the fourth consecutive time with less than 10% of the eligible voters voting according to an Election Commission,which is run by the ruling political party. The party won 224 seats while independent candidates,most of whom were Awami League members propped up as dummy candidates to give a semblance of competition,won 62 seats.
