Hadiza Zakari (born 26 September 1989) is a Nigerian-Iranian fashion model, entrepreneur and beauty pageant contestant weightlifter.
Hadiza Zakari started her career when she joined the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as a serving member she get into weightlifting and became one of the best Nigerian national weightlifters in local competitions. She first competed at International level during the 2009 World Championships in the 75 kg category where she finished twelve in snatch, thirteen in clean and jerk, and thirteen overall. [1] At the 2010 Commonwealth Games she won a gold medal in the 75 kg event with a 110 kg snatch and a 140 clean and jerk for a combined total of 239 kg, a Commonwealth Games record at time. [2]
She also competed in the 2011 World Championships in the 75 kg category she finished eleven in snatch, six in clean and jerk, and eleven overall. [1] [3]
Weightlifting is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with the aim of successfully lifting the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead. The snatch is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The clean and jerk is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders, and then from the shoulders to over the head. The sport formerly included a third lift/event known as clean and press.
Jeane Elizabeth Lassen is a Canadian weightlifter. Lassen is from Whitehorse, Yukon and is one of few Yukon athletes to break into the world scene and is Yukon's first Summer Olympian. Weightlifting official Moira Lassen is her mother.

Talha Talib is a Pakistani weightlifter from Gujranwala. He is the Pakistani national champion in the 62 kg category. He set a new record at the games in snatch as he lifted 132 kg in the third attempt with 127 kg and 130 kg in the first two attempts, respectively. He was also a gold medalist at the 2016 Commonwealth Youth Weightlifting Championships in Penang. He lifted 258 kg to clinch the gold. He is currently the top No. 1 ranked weightlifter of Pakistan.

Augustina Nwaokolo is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the women's 48 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold medal. Augustina Nwaokolo won the first gold medal of the games which see her setting a new Games record of 175 kg after lifting 77 kg in the snatch and 98 kg in the clean and jerk. This saw her became the first Nigerian teenage weightlifter to achieve that in an International competitions and the Commonwealth Games. The event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Onyeka Azike is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, won a silver medal in the women's 53 kg division at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, and won a gold medal in the 58 kg weightlifting category of the 2007 All Africa Games in Algeria.
Bilikis Abiodun Otunla is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the 2015 African Games and she won gold medals in the women's 69 kg category - Clean and jerk 1ST (Gold), Women's 69 – 75 kg category – Trekken 1ST (Gold) and Women's 69 – 75 kg – Total Gold She had also participated in the 2016, 2018 and 2019 of the African Games competitions winning gold at all of them except the 2019 which she was suspended after her win as a result of a failed anti-doping test, and the gold medal was not awarded to her. In 2019 she was banned until 2027 by the International Weightlifting Federation after testing positive for metenolone and metenolone metabolites.

Joy Ogbonne Eze is a Nigerian weightlifter. She is a two-time gold medalist at the African Games. She also won the gold medal in the women's 64 kg event at the 2021 African Weightlifting Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rafiatu Folashade Lawal is a Nigerian weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 59 kg event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. In 2019, she represented Nigeria at the African Games held in Rabat, Morocco and she won the gold medal in the women's 59 kg event. She also won the gold medal in her event at the 2021 African Weightlifting Championships held in Nairobi, Kenya.
