Hakeem Yasin

Hakeem Yasin is a senior Indian politician from Jammu and Kashmir. He is a former Revenue, Irrigation, Transport, and Food Minister and a former member of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from Khan Sahib Assembly constituency. [1] He is the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Front. [2]

Yasin Malik is a Kashmiri separatist leader and former militant who advocates the separation of Kashmir from both India and Pakistan. He is the Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, which originally spearheaded armed militancy in the Kashmir Valley. Malik renounced violence in 1994 and adopted peaceful methods to come to a settlement of the Kashmir conflict. In May 2022, Malik pleaded guilty to charges of criminal conspiracy and waging war against the state, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Mohammad Yasin Shah was an Indian politician and the former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. A member of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, he started his political career from Hazratbal constituency in 1987 and later, represented Sonawar constituency in 1996 and subsequently served as political adviser to the then chief minister, Farooq Abdullah. Prior to his participation in assembly elections, he served as councillor of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

A District Development Council is a form of elected local government in Jammu and Kashmir facilitated by the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989 and created under Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Rule, 1996 of the constitution of India. They are primarily aimed at electing the members from the rural and urban areas for the District Planning Committee and the councils themselves with fourteen members from each district for speedy development and economic upliftment.
