Hal G. Harper (born March 11,1948) is an American politician in the state of Montana. He served in the Montana House of Representatives from 1972 to 1974 and 1976 to 2000. In 1985 and 1989,he served as majority leader of the House,and in 1991 as Speaker of the House. [1] He later served as an adviser to Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer. [2] Harper is an alumnus of the University of Montana and has worked in construction. [3]

It is bordered by Idaho to the west,North Dakota and South Dakota to the east,Wyoming to the south,and the Canadian provinces of Alberta,British Columbia,and Saskatchewan to the north. The western half of the state contains numerous mountain ranges,while the eastern half is characterized by western prairie terrain and badlands,with smaller mountain ranges found throughout the state.

Notably,though it was a collaborative effort with Kennedy,Sorensen was generally regarded as the author of the majority of the final text of Profiles in Courage,and stated in his memoir that he helped write the book. Profiles in Courage won Kennedy the 1957 Pulitzer Prize for Biography. Sorensen helped draft Kennedy's inaugural address and was also the primary author of Kennedy's 1962 "We choose to go to the Moon" speech.
