Hallvard Aamlid (born 25 January 1973) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party.

He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo during the term 1997–2001.

Outside politics he works for the publishing house Universitetsforlaget.

The name "Graatop", meaning "Gray-top" is probably a nom de guerre, possibly referring to gray hair or a gray hood. Graatop's true identity is unknown. Popular stories in the Telemark area claim him to be "Lord" Hallvard Torbjørnsen of Roaldstad farm.

It is named after the city's patron, Saint Hallvard. The medal was designed by goldsmith Jacob Prytz (1886–1962) of the jewelry firm J. Tostrup in Oslo. It has been awarded since 1956.

Oslo is one of the cities in Norway, along with Bergen, Halden, Kristiansand and formerly Tønsberg, that has a city seal defined as its coat of arms. The Seal of Oslo is officially regarded by the city government as its coat of arms. It depicts the city's patron saint, St. Hallvard. The seal shows St. Hallvard with his attributes, the millstone and arrows, with a nude woman by his feet. He is seated on a throne with lion decorations, which at the time was also commonly used in the seals of Norwegian kings. Around the circular image the city's motto is inscribed: Unanimiter et constanter.

Hallvard Ophuus Devold was a Norwegian Arctic explorer, trapper and meteorologist. He was instrumental in the attempt to establish Eric the Red's Land in 1931. His brother Finn Devold (1902–1977) shared his vision and helped to establish a Norwegian station at Finnsbu, SE Greenland.
