Harald Tyrdal

Harald Tyrdal (born 25 November 1946) is a retired Norwegian handball player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics.

He was born in Oslo and represented the club Refstad IL. In 1972 he was part of the Norwegian team which finished ninth in the Olympic tournament. He played four matches and scored twelve goals. [1] He was capped 120 times in total. His honors include a cup championship and two league titles, and he became Player of the Year in Norway's top league in 1978. [2]

After his active career he became a businessman. He was the CEO of Narvesen ASA from 1989 to 2000, in Reitan Narvesen ASA from 2000 to 2001 and in Optimera from 2002. [2]

Fritt Ord Award consists of two prizes awarded by the Fritt Ord Foundation. Two prizes are awarded in support of freedom of speech and freedom of expression; the Fritt Ord Award and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award . These are awards are distributed annually during the month of May in connection with the anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II in May 1945. Norsk Spisevognselskap A/S, often abbreviated NSS or shortened to Spisevognselskapet, was a Norwegian state enterprise which operated restaurant carriages on Norwegian trains and restaurants at railway stations and railway hotels. The company was established in December 1918, and started a catering service in 1919. Originally owned by the Norwegian Trunk Railway, it was acquired by the state in 1926. Meals served in the restaurant carriages were relatively expensive, although they were available to all passengers. In the 1950s, the company began using serving trolleys on trains.
