He served in the Imperial Mughal Army under Emperor Akbar. Man Singh fought sixty-seven important battles in Kabul, Balkh, Bukhara, Bengal and Central and Southern India. He was well versed in the battle tactics of both the Rajputs as well as the Mughals. He is commonly considered to be one of the Navaratnas, or the nine (nava) gems (ratna) of the royal court of Akbar.

Veer Kunwar Singh University was established on 22 October 1992 with its headquarters at Arrah, under the Bihar University Act 1976 [as amendment Act 9 of 1992]. It is named after Kunwar Singh, the well-known national hero and a distinguished freedom fighter of 1857.

He led a selected band of armed soldiers against the troops under the command of the British East India Company. He was the chief organiser of the fight against the British in Bihar.
Jagdishpur is a nagar panchayat town of the district Bhojpur of the state of Bihar in eastern India. It was the capital of the eponymous Jagdishpur estate, ruled by Rajputs of the Ujjainiya clan. One of its rulers, Kunwar Singh, was a major figure in the Indian Rebellion of 1857, considered the leader of the rebellion in Bihar.

The earliest form of Bhojpuri can be seen in the writings of Siddha Saints and Charyapada. Distinct literary traditions in Bhojpuri language date back to medieval periods when saints and bhakts of the region adapted a mixed language for their works.

Hardinge Park officially known as Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park is a public park in the city of Patna built by British Raj in 1916. The park was initially named after Viceroy Charles Hardinge and was built in his honour as he was instrumental in the creation of Bihar as a separate province. It was built as Patna's first public park. The park is located midway between Patna Junction and the Bihar Secretariat. The name was changed to Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park post independence. The park also hosted a garden party for then Prince of Wales - Edward VIII - in 1921 on his visit to Patna. The park completed its centenary in 2016. It is known as the old bus stand. Indian Railways is soon going to construct Suburban Rail Terminal at Hardinge Park which is barely 900 metres west from Patna Junction.
The Jagdishpur estate was a zamindari estate situated in modern-day Bihar, India, in erstwhile Shahabad district. The centre of the estate was the town of Jagdishpur, however the estate also included neighbouring towns and villages. The estate was also protected by a fort.
Maharaja College is a constituent college of Veer Kunwar Singh University, Arrah in the Bihar State of India. It was founded on 13 September 1954. It is one of the oldest co-educational institution of south-west Bihar. Originally it was a part of Magadh University but in 1992 after the establishment of Veer Kunwar Singh University it became the part of it.
Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Arrah, Bihar. The stadium has capacity of 10,000 spectators. The stadium is a venue for football tournaments, fairs & exhibition. It is used mostly for association football matches and the stadium is named after the Indian leader Babu Veer Kunwar Singh.
