Harry Belden is an American actor. He has voiced Morty Smith and Evil Morty in the Adult Swim animated television series Rick and Morty since season 7.

Biography

Belden was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. [1] From a young age, he had a passion for comedy and performance, particularly acting. Belden attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in 2017. [2]

Career

Belden began his career in 2017, working on various projects in Chicago including theater, commercials, and voice over. [1] Belden's breakthrough came when he was cast as the voice of Morty Smith/Evil Morty in the popular animated television series Rick and Morty following the dismissal of Justin Roiland. Belden's portrayal of the characters began in the show's seventh season, which premiered on Adult Swim in October 2023. [3]

Since taking on the role, Belden has been praised for his excellent portrayal of Morty Smith. [4] In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Scott Marder discussed the search to recast: "[Harry Belden and Ian Cardoni] both came through rigorous casting calls. Ian was early on and Harry came after we exhausted every resource. We had multiple waves of narrowing people down. ...They just bought this show 30 more years. We just got these eager young guys who are so excited to attack every episode." [3]

The Vindicators is an American animated superhero comedy spin-off of the Rick and Morty franchise, owned by Warner Bros.
