Harry Michaels, (OAM), is an Australian entrepreneur, active in both the soccer and television industries as an actor, director and producer. He is of Greek Cypriot descent. [1]
Harry Michaels became known in the late 1970s through his role as Giovanni Lenzi, an Italian deli assistant, in the television series Number 96. He had previously appeared in that series in a guest role. [2] Michaels pioneered the English-language ethnic television, as the host of Greek Affair [3] and The Greek Variety Show which were broadcast on Network 10 in the 1980s. [4]
Harry Michaels, was honoured with the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2004, with the citation "For service to multicultural media and soccer". [1]

Acropolis Now was an Australian television sitcom set in a fictional Greek cafe, called the "Acropolis Cafe" in Melbourne that ran for 63 episodes broadcast from 9 August 1989 to 4 November 1992 on the Seven Network. It was created by Nick Giannopoulos, George Kapiniaris and Simon Palomares, who also starred in the series. They were already quite well known for their comedy stage show, Wogs out of Work. The title is a nameplay on the film Apocalypse Now. Each episode was 20 minutes in length and filmed in front of a live audience.
