Early life and education

Vella is from Nambour and attended St Joseph's College, Nudgee, before playing his club rugby for Canberra Royals. [2] He had previously been a member of the Queensland academy, and represented Australia Schools. [3] He previously worked in a warehouse, where he earned the nickname 'The Forklift' due to his ability to lift heavy objects. [4]

Professional career

Vella was named in the Brumbies squad ahead of the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season. [5] After a 16-month lay off due to injury, he made his debut in Round 5 of the season against Moana Pasifika. [6]
