Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim (born in 1955 [1] ) is a Qatari politician and diplomat,and the current chairman of Consultative Assembly of Qatar since October 2021.
He has a political science degree from University of Portland,USA,in 1980. [2] He served in the diplomatic corps in the ministry of foreign affairs,and in Qatar Embassy in Washington D.C.,Riyadh and Jeddah. [2] From 1996 to 1999 he was under-secretary of ministry of electricity and water. [3] In January 1999 he was appointed as minister of justice, [2] a position which he held until 2013. [3]
On 26 October 2021 he was elected as the chairman of the Consultative Assembly of Qatar. [1] [4]
The Politics of Oman take place in a framework of an absolute monarchy,where the Sultan of Oman is both head of state and head of government. The Sultan is hereditary,who appoints a cabinet to assist him. The sultan also serves as the supreme commander of the armed forces and prime minister.

The Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia,also known as Majlis ash-Shura or The Shura Council, is the formal advisory body of Saudi Arabia. It is a deliberative assembly that advises the King on issues that are important to Saudi Arabia. It has the power to propose laws to the King of Saudi Arabia and his cabinet to approve it and pass it. It has 150 members,all appointed by the king and chosen "from amongst scholars,those of knowledge,expertise and specialists". Since 2013,the Assembly has included 30 female members out of the total of 150 members,after a 20 percent minimum quota for women was imposed. The Consultative Assembly is headed by a Speaker. As of 2016,the Speaker was Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh,in line with a tradition that kept the post in that family. The Assembly is based in al-Yamamah Palace,Riyadh.
The Consultative Assembly is the legislative body of the State of Qatar,with 45 members. Following the 2021 Qatari general election,it has 30 elected and 15 appointed members. The body can only question the prime minister,who is appointed by the Emir of Qatar,on his policies if two-thirds of the members agree,which is unlikely given that one-third of the members are appointed by the Emir.

Hessa bint Sultan Al Jaber is a Qatari engineer,academic and politician. She was the first Minister of Information and Communications Technology in Qatar following the formation of a new cabinet by the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani in 2013. In 2017 she was one of four women appointed to the Consultative Assembly,becoming one of the country's first female parliamentarians.
The Al Khater family is a prestigious family in the Arabian Peninsula. They belong to Al Buainain of Banu Tamim. The family expands in several Arabian Peninsula countries including Saudi Arabia,Qatar and Bahrain. General elections were held in Qatar for the first time on 2 October 2021,following an announcement by the Emir of Qatar on 22 August 2021. The elections for the Consultative Assembly were originally scheduled for the second half of 2013,but were postponed in June 2013 until at least 2016. In 2016 they were postponed again. Finally,in November 2020,Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani pledged to hold the election in October 2021.
