Haylie Marie Wagner (born April 7,1993 [1] ) is an American softball pitcher for the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch. From 2012 to 2015,she was a left-handed pitcher for the Michigan Wolverines softball team. She was unanimously selected the 2012 Big Ten Conference Softball Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 32–7 record and a 1.53 earned run average (ERA) in her freshman year. She finished her college career with a 100–18 win record and a 1.82 ERA. Since 2015,Wagner has pitched for the Pennsylvania Rebellion,but the club was dissolved in 2017.
Wagner was born in 1993 and grew up in Orange,California. [2] She attended El Modena High School, [3] graduating in 2011. [1] She was selected as an all-country player three consecutive years from 2009 to 2011. [3]
Wagner enrolled in the University of Michigan College of Literature,Science,and the Arts in the fall of 2011. [1] As a freshman in the spring of 2012,Wagner appeared in 50 games,including 34 as a starter. [1] She compiled a win–loss record of 32–7 with a 1.53 ERA and 159 strikeouts. [1] Her 32 wins set a single-season freshman record at Michigan. Following an outstanding season,she was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year. [1] At the end of the 2012 season,she was selected unanimously as the Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Year. [4] [5]
As a sophomore in 2013,Haylie Wagner was named to the Top 50 Watch List for the 2013 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. [3] However,she missed the first three weeks of the season with a back injury. [3] After returning to the line-up,she appeared in 30 games,including 22 as a starter. [1] On March 9,2013,she threw a one-hitter against Illinois. [1] She returned to Orange County,California to play for Michigan in the Judi Garman Classic and threw eight shutout innings in a victory over North Carolina State. [3] At the time,Michigan head coach Carol Hutchins told the Orange County Register :"We feel like she has the chance to be a very special player. Just how special? We'll have to wait and see about that. But we recruited her for a reason." [3] Wagner compiled a 19–3 record in 2013 with a 2.50 ERA and 102 strikeouts. [1] She was selected as a second-team All-Big Ten Conference pitcher at the end of the 2013 season. [6]
In 2014,Wagner appeared in 37 games,24 as a starter,and compiled a 24–5 record with a 1.82 ERA and 122 strikeouts. [1] [7]
In 2015,Wagner appeared in 38 games,26 as a starter,and compiled a 25–3 record with a 1.75 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 172.1 innings pitched. [1] [8] She was selected to the 2015 All-Big Ten Conference team. [9]
In June 2015,Wagner was signed by the Pennsylvania Rebellion. [10] In October 2015,she extended her contract through the 2017 season. [10]
Catherine Leigh Osterman is a retired American softball player. Osterman pitched on the United States women's national softball team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and silver medal at the 2008 and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Monica Cecilia Abbott is a retired American professional softball player. Abbott was an All-American pitcher for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers in college before starting a professional career in the NPF and in the Japan Softball League. In international competition,she has played for Team USA from 2005 including the national softball team winning a silver medal at the 2008 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Abbott is the NCAA Division I leader in wins,strikeouts,shutouts and innings.
Carol Sue Hutchins is an American former softball coach. In 38 years as the head coach of Michigan Wolverines softball,(1985–2022),she won more games than more than any other coach in University of Michigan history in any sport,male or female with 1,684 wins. Hutchins had a career record of 1,707 wins,551 losses,and five ties,for a .759 winning percentage. She led the Wolverines to their first NCAA softball championship in 2005.
Nicole Ashley Nemitz was a volunteer assistant coach for the Michigan Wolverines softball team. She was an All-American pitcher for the team,winning first-team NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-American honors in 2009.
The Michigan Wolverines softball team represents the University of Michigan in National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I competition. College softball became a varsity sport at the University of Michigan in 1978. Bonnie Tholl has been the head coach since 2023,following the retirement of longtime head coach Carol Hutchins. In 2005,Hutchins' team became the first Division I softball team since 1976 from east of the Mississippi River to win the Women's College World Series.
Jordan Lee Taylor is an American,former collegiate All-American,3-time professional All-Star right-handed softball pitcher originally from Santa Clarita,California. She played for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 2008–2011 and Team USA. She was drafted #11 and played from 2011-18 in the National Pro Fastpitch where she is currently the career leader in saves. She is the career Big Ten Conference career leader in strikeouts and also ranks in numerous records for the Wolverines,the conference and in the NCAA Division I.
Jennifer Darlene Ritter is an American,former collegiate All-American,retired softball pitcher and current sports commentator. She played college softball and was a starting pitcher for the Michigan Wolverines softball from 2003 to 2006 and led them to the 2005 Women's College World Series championship. She is the career shutouts record holder for the Wolverines in the Big Ten Conference.
Sara Lynn Driesenga is an American softball coach and former pitcher. She is currently an assistant coach at Central Michigan. Playing college softball at Michigan,she compiled a 31-9 record during the 2013 season with 247 strikeouts and a 1.89 ERA. She threw a no-hitter against Hofstra in February 2013 and pitched a complete-game shutout against Arizona State in the 2013 Women's College World Series.
Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She played college softball for Michigan from 2013 to 2016,where she set numerous records and was a four-time All-American. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown,along with the total bases and slugging percentage records,simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. She was the inaugural winner of both the espnW Softball Player of the Year in 2015 and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2016,when she also took home the Honda Sports Award Softball Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards. She is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs,50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.
Amanda Marie Chidester is an American former professional softball player and current assistant coach for Michigan. She was named National Pro Fastpitch Player of the Year for the Chicago Bandits in 2019. She has been a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team on-and-off since 2012. She played college softball at Michigan from 2009 to 2012 and was named First Team All-Big Ten three of her seasons. She was twice selected as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American. Chidester represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal. In 2021,Chidester played her second season in the Athletes Unlimited Softball league and placed second in individual points earned.
Sara Griffin,later known as Sara Webster,is a softball coach and former softball player and athletic compliance officer. While playing for the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1998,she was a three-time,first-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American. She compiled a win–loss record of 106–19 at Michigan and concluded her collegiate career as the career leader in wins in the Big Ten Conference.
Kelly Kovach Schoenly is an American softball coach and former softball player. She was the head softball coach at Ohio State from June 2012 to May 2024. She previously served as the head softball coach at Miami (Ohio) from 2006 to 2012. She has also been an assistant coach at Michigan and Penn State.

Kelsey Elizabeth Kollen is a former American softball player. She played college softball for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 1999 to 2002. She was selected as the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year in 1999 and a first-team NFCA All-American in 2002. She was also selected as the first-team All-Big Ten second baseman in 1999,2001,and 2002. She is married to former Major League Baseball relief pitcher J. J. Putz.
Megan Renee Betsa is an American,former collegiate All-American,right-handed professional softball pitcher and coach. She is a former assistant coach at Chattanooga. She played college softball for Michigan in the Big Ten Conference,where she is the career strikeout ratio (10.7) leader for both the Big Ten and Michigan,and also ranks top-20 for the NCAA Division I. Betsa was selected seventh overall by the Akron Racers in the 2017 NPF Draft,and went on to play professionally for the now defunct Racers.
Emma Johnson,is an American softball pitcher. She was the starting pitcher for Kent State University from 2012 to 2015,where she wore the #11. Johnson is currently a free agent.
Lauren Elizabeth Anna Haeger is a professional softball pitcher and first baseman with the Dallas Charge of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). After being named a member of the 2011 MaxPreps Softball All-American Team and earning a gold medal at the III Pan American (18-under) Games in 2010,Haegar played softball at the University of Florida.
Meghan Renee Beaubien is an American softball left-handed pitcher. She has played for the Michigan Wolverines softball team since 2018. As a freshman in 2018,she led the NCAA with 33 wins,set a University of Michigan record with 32 wins in the regular season,and was selected as a first-team All-American.
The 2015 Michigan Wolverines softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Michigan during the 2015 NCAA softball season. The Wolverines,led by head coach Carol Hutchins in her thirty-first season,played their home games at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor,Michigan. The Wolverines finished the season with a 60–8 record,including 21–2 in conference play. The Wolverines won the 2015 Big Ten Conference softball tournament and qualified for the NCAA Division I softball tournament. They advanced to the finals of the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2005,where they lost to Florida.
Alex Ryann Storako is an American softball pitcher for the Oklahoma City Spark of Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played college softball for Michigan and Oklahoma. As a junior in 2021,she set a Michigan program record with 22 strikeouts in a game and was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year.
