He Loves Me Not is a 2024 Australian romantic comedy film starring Rhiannon Fish and Lincoln Lewis. It was directed by Tam Sainsbury.

Contents

Filming started in October 2023 and took place on K'gari Island and at Hervey Bay. [1]

The film had its world premiere at the Gold Coast Film Festival in April 2024. [2] It is the second film by Fraser Coast Films, the first being 13th Summer. [3]

Plot

Holiday, an aspiring actress working on K'gari Island decides to enter a reality dating show being shot on the island to earn some money.

The local economy relies on tourism which is based primarily around whale watching in Platypus Bay to the north, ferry access to K'gari, accessible recreational fishing and boating and the natural north facing, calm beaches with wide undeveloped foreshore zones. In October 2019, Hervey Bay was named the First Whale Heritage Site in the world by the World Cetacean Alliance, for its commitment to and practices of sustainable whale and dolphin watching.

Eliza Anne Fraser was an English woman known for being shipwrecked at K'gari, an island off the coast of Queensland, Australia, on 22 May 1836. After being rescued from the island, she spoke and wrote of her experiences, including claims of being captured and enslaved by "Indians", native Butchalla people. The island was renamed 'Fraser Island', in honour of her deceased husband Captain James Fraser. It was renamed to its traditional name of K’gari in June 2023.
