Heads Up is the second studio album from Australian alternative group, The Stems, released on 6 October 2007 through Shock Records. [1] The album was recorded at Kingdom Studios, Perth, mixed at Ultrasuede Studio Inc, Cincinnati, Ohio by producer John Curley (The White Stripes, The Afghan Whigs, The Greenhornes, Ronnie Spector) and mastered at Oceanway, Los Angeles, California by Alan Yoshida.

The Stems

The Stems are a garage punk band formed in Perth, Western Australia in late 1983. They were founded by Dom Mariani in late 1983. The Stems are heavily influenced by 1960s garage rock and 1970s power pop. The band initially broke up in August 1987 and reformed in 2003, releasing a new album in 2007. Although the group disbanded in October 2009, as of 2013 The Stems are an ongoing live concern.

Dom Mariani Australian musician (born 1958)

Domenic Desio Mariani is an Australian guitarist, vocalist, producer, and songwriter. Mariani has been a member of several bands since the early 1980s, including The Stems, The Someloves, DM3, Datura, The Majestic Kelp and the Domnicks. The Stems is the best-known and most successful of Mariani's projects. Australian musicologist Ian McFarlane described the power pop group as "one of the best live bands on the Australian scene".
