Heather Sheardown is a professor in the Chemical Engineering department at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and holder of a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Ophthalmic Biomaterials and Drug Delivery System from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). [1] [2] Her research has focused on biomaterials and eye health, including bioengineered contact lenses, [3] [4] and eye drops that can be used for targeted drug delivery. [5] [6] [7] She was the student of Professor John Brash. [8]

Sheardown is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, [9] a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering [10] and in 2020, she received the Hamilton YWCA's Women of Distinction award in Science, Technology, and Trades. [11] [12] In 2021 she was appointed Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, [13] and was confirmed as Dean of Engineering in 2022. [14] [15]

Donna Skelly is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2018 provincial election. She represents the riding of Flamborough—Glanbrook as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Skelly currently serves as Deputy Speaker, and was previously the Parliamentary Assistant to the Attorney General and is a member of the Select Committee on Emergency Management Oversight and the Standing Committee on Justice Policy. Hoda ElMaraghy is an Egyptian-Canadian professor and director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Center at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario which she founded together with her husband Prof. Waguih ElMaraghy in July 1994. In 1994, she was the first woman to serve as dean of engineering at a Canadian university. She is also the first Canadian woman to obtain a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. She was appointed as Canada Research Chair (CRC) in manufacturing systems in 2002. She has published more than 450 articles. She received the order of Ontario in 2015.

Professor Dawn Martin-Hill holds the Paul R. MacPherson Chair in Indigenous Studies at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Martin-Hill is an associate professor with appointments in the Department of Anthropology and the Indigenous Studies Program. She co-founded the Indigenous Studies Program while she was a student in the 1990s.

Santee Smith is a Canadian Kahnyen’kehàka (Mohawk) multidisciplinary artist, dancer, designer, producer, and choreographer of the Turtle Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River. She has used her voice and research to create dance works representing Indigenous identities. She is an advocate for Indigenous performances and is one of Canada's most dominating dance artists. Santee Smith has amassed many awards throughout her career and in 2019, she was appointed Chancellor of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Liisa Ann Margaret Galea is a Canadian neuroscientist who is a professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the Centre for Brain Health and Director of the Graduate Programme in Neuroscience. Her research considers the impact of hormones on brain health and behaviour.

Gail Krantzberg is a Professor of Engineering and Public Policy at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Her research has focused on plastic pollution in the Great Lakes, and includes detecting COVID-19 in municipal water supplies. In 2001 she was selected to be the director of the International Joint Commission's Great Lakes Office in Windsor, Ontario, a post she held until 2005. In 2021, it was announced that she would co-chair the IJC's Science Priority Committee.

Evelyn Myrie is a community activist, particularly in the area of anti-Black racism, in Hamilton, Ontario. She is known for her community leadership, activism, anti-racism work. The Evelyn Myrie Award for Political Action was created in her honour. Myrie has received numerous awards and distinctions in recognition of her important contributions to equity work in Hamilton and in Canada, including the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Award, Government of Canada, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award, Government of Canada, the Woman of the Year Public Affairs Award from the City of Hamilton, and was the inaugural inductee into the City of Hamilton's Order of Hamilton award.

Naheed Dosani is a palliative care physician based in Ontario, Canada, who founded and leads the Palliative Education and Care for the Homeless (PEACH) program. For his efforts in providing mobile healthcare to individuals with vulnerable housing or are homeless, Dosani has received a Meritorious Service Cross from the Governor General of Canada (2017), and a Canadian Medical Association Award for Young Leaders (2020).

Lynn Posluns is the founder and president of Women’s Brain Health Initiative in Canada. In 2021, Posluns was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada for "her contributions to research on women’s cognitive health and aging through the founding of Women’s Brain Health Initiative."
